Fat, thin, crispy--noodles come however you like at this comfortable Lakeview storefront. – The Scene
Joy's is an old standby for casual Boys Town diners; it's convenient, it's B.Y.O.B., and best of all, it's super-cheap, with little on the menu more than $7. The room is comfortable and bright, with French doors up front that make window seats perfect perches for people-watching in warm weather. Service is fast and friendly.
It's good, simple Asian fare, with items divided into noodles, curry and rice dishes. Baby egg rolls (and they're not joking about the size) are good and sharp-flavored. Tom yum (hot and sour) soup is practically a meal in itself, brimming with mushrooms and tomatoes -- perfect for nursing a hangover or warming up on a cold day. Pad thai is a worthy version; lard na (fried wide rice noodles topped with chicken and broccoli in gravy) is very flavorful, but only mildly spicy.
heaven – What can I say besides that Joy's is my life. The food is amazing. The service is fast and honestly if i could go to one place in the world it woudl be Joy's. The pad seiu and the coconut curry are excellent! The waiters are scrumcious. I enjoy eating them out almsot as much as i enjoy the food. Go to joy's and you will be joyfull.
Pretty good – I'm not big on Thai food but since I'm trying to eat healthier, it seems the way to go. The food here is very good! The most expensive entree was $7. Can't beat that at all. Service was super-fast and professional.
Always a stop by – My partner & I are in Chicago several times a year, and we always make it a point to stop by Joy's everytime. Great food!
easy on the thai's – I find the selction is nothing to gawk at, it has the staples as with any other Thai restaurant, pad thai, that chicken and beef salad and the ubiquitous chicken satay! I must say that I have never left this place unhappy . You can always be assured that anyone who walks into this homey place will walk out satisfied and counting the days until there next trip here. Now, since I do live down the street I must give this restaurant two ratings. One for great food made with fresh ingredients and the other for some of the fastest and freshest take out this side of the mississip! I also live down the street from Leona's and it takes them an hour to deliver a pizza, while Joy's only takes roughly ten minutes. Now that's what I call Thai in your eye!
Yum – Try the Green Curry dish; it's simply fantastic. This is where I take all my out-of-town guests. Try it tonight!
always accomodating – this is a great place... they give what you want... the food is good and inexpensive... you can byob... it a good place to go with friends and to run into friends...
Great food, amazing price – The first time I ate at Joy's, my eyes bugged out at the prices listed on the menu. I was equally delighted when I received my food, which was very delicious and quickly served. A must for anyone in the neighborhood.
Cheap, Fast, Good – It's a great place to stop with friends when you want something casual, inexpensive, and good. I've never been disappointed by the food or the service.
A place for lovers... – It was the first place my boyfriend and i went to together and three years later - we still love going there. From the atmosphere to the food, the service to the price - this is super great place for a bite to eat.
