Genuine Irish Pub My Bum! – Being an Irish girl raised in an Irish family, I've been to quite a few amazing Irish pubs. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of them. Though the decor was dead on, instead of the traditional Irish music I was told to expect, they were playing some modern day, rock rubbish. All the patrons were older, rich businessmen staying at the Hilton...and that was it. I was the only young woman in the entire place. Their menu was small and overpriced, and their corned beef and cabbage (a standard fair I figured they HAD to get right) was bland and not cooked well. The wait staff, which I had heard only good things about, were all-American and too busy to do more than ask for my order; not a kind word or smile from any of them. I was hoping for a bit of a home away from home, but this definitely wasn't it. I highly doubt I'll go here again.

Irish-influenced hotel bar and grill that attracts business travelers and South Loop professionals. – The Scene
The few good South Loop bars are overshadowed by overpriced hotel bars and chains restaurants. A spot like Kitty O'Shea's in the Chicago Hilton occupies a position somewhere in between; the aura includes photographs of castles and the Irish countryside, Harp mirrors and Irish walking sticks on the wall. To simulate a real Irish pub, walls are a pale yellow.

The Draw
Pints of Guinness, Harp and Murphy's are priced at $5, and American microbrews are also on tap, perfect to wash down standards such as fish-and-chips, shepherd's pie, burgers, and fried cheese and potato skins appetizers. Irish music is piped through the bar until 9pm, when the nightly entertainment begins. During the week, the crowd is mostly hotel guests, suits and conventioneers.
