Bad service, Intimidating security staff at night club..
Bar tender don't know how to serve drinks.
Usually most of the clubs let you when is the last call,
The bar tender told me that the last call was at 12:30
and at 1:30 am she was still serving drinks she don't know what she was talking about, Sudenly when the music stop a security guy start asking us to get out of the place in a very very rude voice and itimidating way my friend didn't like it and start argue with him and at the end we had a very bad experince because this security guy act like if he hate latinos;
Then i went there because i wanted to dance latin music, at the end the DJ lost the sence of music and he ed it up playing hip hop basically for the last hour.
Me and my friends will won't come back to this place
and i won't recomend it to anyone.
amazing place!.
awesome service. we always have great service and even better food. everything comes out quick and hot and extremely tastey!
Rock Salt really has to be one of Seattle's best kept secrets!
they have really improved their menu...and i love it!
their brownie desert is a perfect way to end the night! YUM!
stay away. I don't know what we were thinking but we went here for Easter brunch. We couldn't get into 2 other places that we had been before so we thought we would try something new. I felt like we were at a school cafeteria. The cold dishes were warm and the warm dishes were cold. The food was terrible. The pastry area had some frozen cakes and cheap muffins. This was the worst brunch we have ever had. We should have gone to IHOP. To top it off, it was very expensive.
Had a good time entertaining my guests Longest Happy Hour I know of.
I went to Rock Salt along with some friends visiting from the East Coast. I thought the view was just as exciting as any on Lake Union. The place was very clean, our food served promptly, and contrary to the old reviews, I thought the food was good.
I've eaten ate Serafina in the past and thought besides the Non view, the food was way overpriced, but Rock Salt seemed fair and had a good view if that's what you want. The happy hour is listed as being 3-9PM which is long for Seattle.
Overall I say it is worth going to again the cost of a dinner for 4 is about half what you would pay at Saltys.
How is this place still open?. My boyfriend and I decided to go here for our anniversary dinner, wow, what a mistake. When we arrived, we realized besides one other table, we were the only people in there. The waitress was rude and "tricked" us into ordering a side soup and salad (she made it sound like it came with the meal, when really we were charged extra). We both ordered steak. It wasn't good, there was nothing special about it and it was way overpriced. My potatoes were cold. Don't waste your time and money with this place, go somewhere else!
holy shi... As a frequent diner to Seattles best restaurants including canlis, the met, and mortons, we went to the Rock Salt for prom this year because some members of our group were not willing to pay over a $100 for dinner. I was hesitant while reading the dissapointing reviews that fellow members had posted on citysearch and went with a not-so thrilled attitude. Let me tell you, the attitude did not change. I ordered the prime rib and it came out cold-fairly cold. my date had ordered the strip and was the last to receive her food which was after everyone else had finished. Got there at 7PM and did not get our food to close to 8:30. After paying and what not we were outta there at almost 9:30. I'm sorry i didnt think i would spend more time at the restaurant then at our actual prom.

AWFUL SERVICE & FOOD. We ate "lunch" there on 9/10/2006. How this place stays open is beyond me. It was so hot & muggy in there- obviously no air conditioning. Our beverages ( 2 cokes & a coffee) arrived first. Because it was so hot in there, we drank our cokes quickly. It took forever to get our food, but before we even got our food, we got the bill!! FINALLY got our "food" and it was awful. I ordered a cup of clam chowder that didn't even taste like clam chowder and a small caeser salad. I got the soup first and about 30 minutes later, the salad. The lettuce was wilted - I think the salad was dished up hours before and left out. I couldn't finish either one of them. My husband had some sort of steak sandwich with cheese that was like rubber. He couldn't even eat it. My son had an omlette & it was OK. The waiter NEVER came by to give us refills for our drinks and NEVER came by to see how our "food" was. Now I know why the place was almost empty. We will never go there again.
All in all; everything could have been been better. On Wednesday 07JUN06, our party of 7 arrived to a virtually empty restaurant. We could have been seated at any of more view-rich locations but weren't. Seating was prompt but the service went downhill from there. The drinks order was straight forward with no elaborate concoctions however the flow time before arrival was interminable. Our host raved about the quality of the clam chowder so several of us tried; I found the clams tender and abundant, albeit occasional grit, and all of us were amazed by how lukewarm it was served----we had waited quite time for the first courses to arrive. The special Copper River Salmon just didn't taste right observed our hostess who had worked years as a seafood supplier. My pork chop, which was ordered medium medium-rare, came rare medium-rare; there's a way to do that but it was not to be that night. The pork chop sauce was ghastly and too sweet; the accompanying sweet potatoes were left uneaten on the plate. The whole experience is one which I not repeat. I do not understand why the summary shows "Recommended" based on what I have read in the other reviews and what I have experienced first hand.
Rock Salt is Rock Bottom. Our dinner at Rock Salt was horrible. We were seated by a dirty window with a big boat blocking our view. My wine glass smelled like soap. At 6 p.m., they had no prime rib (which was touted as a big house special). The calamari was soggy, oysters were mediocre, the meat was overcooked, the lettuce accompaniment tasted like it was dressed with straight lemon juice, and the service was slow as snails. To top it off, it took forever for a cab to go home -- which by that point we desparately wanted to do! Don't go!
