Monday Tango!. My favorite bartender's in Seattle (Maddy now a waiter :( and Patrick! Very tasty food. Not to mention 1/2 wine! I really like the new owner too. I'll be back!
Nice tapas, nice drink selection. The bartenders have consistently been friendly and informative. The tapas is heavily meat and cheese laden, just as I like it. Lots of tasty port. A good location.
A real treat and unique experience. I've been to Tango many times and always have enjoyed it. I do think some of the staff has a little 'tude about how great the place is...and that spending $200 isn't worth the time or effort to split checks. Yep, the only place I've been to in town where a server looked at a group of 8 and said, "I can only do 3 cards and cash". His lack of creativity with a seemingly antiquated POS system cost him a good tip...poor guy. Hope he's more customer-oriented next time. Food is always awesome and the service is usually top notch.
Good but no authentic. I was born in Spain and bouncing from Tapas bar to Tapas bars is a way of life there. I went to tango and ordered food which was very good. However I do not think it should be advertised as tapas because they are not served as a tapas is. I suppose this is probably due to regulations on how food can be stored and served. In spain, tapas line the bars and you do not go to a restaurant to order them, but grab as you go. Still all that whining aside, the food was good if pricey and the wine selection was great. Go on the night they have the half priced bottles. I would like to see it become less formal. Spanish dining is not about everybody being quiet, but having long raucous meals with family and friends. Loosen up!
Yum!.
Yum!!! I love this place. Food is always fresh, delicious and creative. Great cheese selection and the option to order smaller Tapas style portions if you want to experiment with several dishes. The wine list is awesome, providing Seattle with some interesting options from the Iberian Peninsula. The staff is very
informative and helpful if you have any questions. Best dessert in town, the Diablo, great happy hour and half-price bottles of wine on Mondays (I think thats the day?)
Best Restaurant in years. Great Food, Great Service, the best place I have been in years! Try the El Diablo, it is the best. Also "Cheap Date" Dates Wrapped in Bacon, Surf In Turf, Greeen Beans, all great! Two cocktails anddinner for Two $60. I do eat small portions so I liked the size of the plates.
Off the charts!. Such a great place to go with anyone. So much to try great conversation pieces! This place is so phenomenal there are no more words!
Rude, Rude, Rude. Three friends and I walked into Tango the other night looking forward to having a nice evening of coctails and tapas. Upon arrival, the host informed us that the wait would be 30-45 minutes. We agreed & decided to have our first drink at the bar thinking we'd have a table by the second round. Well the second round came and went and not a word from the host. When we asked how much longer, he acted as though we were the problem, not the fact that he had misled us about the wait. Finally, after 1 3/4 hours the bartender offered to comp one of our rounds. Even after the host comped the drinks he was not able to muster a simple apology or take responsibility. Sad.
Too bad when a favorite place turns unpleasant. We have always liked Tango but they have changed. If you like slow, pretentious servers who seem bored, then you may like their changes. But we do not. We were also not fond of the server who, just a few minutes after we signed our receipt. proceeded to pick up our water glasses from our table WHILE WE WERE STILL SITTING THERE. I could understand this had we been sitting there a while. But for after 5 minutes seems rude. Word of advice to Tango - hire more people like the gentleman in the 'locks. He's cool and he knows what good, professional service is.
This sophisticated tapas bar supplies sexy snacks for an even sexier crowd..
The Scene
Dim lights and pale linens provide a properly unobtrusive setting for two works of art: the plates of food and the diners. Those lingering over meals put on their most stylish outfit for a night on the town. Servers are fairly artistic themselves, offering sophistication rather than enthusiasm.
The Food
Small plates are artfully arranged and accessorized. Seafood tapas are a good way to start--fiery prawns in adobo over watercress are a winning counterpoint to cool tuna carpaccio with citrus salad. Grilled asparagus with top-shelf Spanish anchovies are savory. But the carnivorous concoctions are the best: Pork tenderloin is deliciously partnered with fresh plums and jicama. Rich spice-rubbed duck confit on black lentil-mango salad, spiked with mint-lime vinaigrette, is simply delicious.
