Trendy chain that models the latest fashions and bold home decor in a colorful, vivacious atmosphere. – In Short
Straight from the funky street styles of Southern Philly, this bohemian-chic shopping mecca has evolved to offer everything from trendy men and womens clothing to vintage-y home accessories. Brands like Lux, BDG, and Free People encompass the stores' youthful, ironically humorous, and comfortable designs. While apparel is the main draw, the urban emporium also sells kitschy, retro, and downright odd knick knacks and accessories for the living room, bedroom, and kitchen as well. Each section is packed with creative arrangements to peruse while listening to a soundtrack of the staff's favorite tunes.

Downtown Location Employees Are Terrible – I love Urban Outfitters. The clothes are always stylish, functional, wide in variety, and not TOO expensive.

The downtown location is great, because it has the square footage a store like Urban needs- split level and tons of room for tables upon tables of those juicy sweaters.

That's why it saddens me to walk into this location of Urban Outfitters knowing I'm going to leave mad, even with a great pair of jeans in my hand. The staff are TERRIBLE. They're rude, and lazy.

One day I beeped walking IN the door, because of a security tag that I'd forgotten to cut out of my shirt. I was shocked when the only option offered to me was to "borrow a pair of scissors" and "cut the tag out". Three young ladies chewed gum and stared at me as I stared back at them from the doorway completely baffled.

I love Urban Outfitters, but not so much that I would literally undress myself on 5th avenue in the pouring down rain to remove a security tag so that I could enter the store. What OUTRAGED me was that I had come to Urban Outfitters that day for a specific item. When I asked if they were still in stock, one sales associate said she didn't know, while another quickly replied with a sneer on her face "No, we don't have any". Then began shaking her head in the direction of the third, most clueless, sales associate, as if to say "Just tell her we don't have them". Eventually the third girl caught on and said "Oh. Yeah. We don't have those anymore."

Well, that would have been fine. Except that I could see the stupid thing sitting on a table right in front of me. If I hadn't been in a hurry and so set on not purchasing ANYTHING from that location ever again, I'd have complained.

Also there have been instances when I've asked associates about sizes available from the back room, and been told they didn't have them, then out of curiosity asked a different sales associate who then retrieved the exact size I was requesting for me from the back room.

I take my business to Broadway, now.

Fab store!!! – I love that the staff is not your usual Nordstrom-in-a-suit type of employee. their styles, ranging from funky to goth to street, reflect on the uniqueness of the store itself. the staff can be helpful, but only when you ask for it. the clothes are great and constantly surprising me because they are different from anything else on the market. however, the prices can sometimes be a little too steep for the average teenager or college student.
