Thank you for reviewing! – A big thank you to everyone who has written reviews here. I am planning a Bachelorette Party for 25 girls in a couple weeks and had told everyone we were going to Tia Lou's. I actually stumbled upon the review's by accident, but I will NOT be taking this party to this club because of the reviews you all have taken the time to write. It sounds like NIGHTMARE.
Thanks for saving me the trouble and the $$.
BEWARE and watch your bartender make your drink – My girlfriend and I got slipped date r ape dr ugs at this club. Once I have proof (I already know it happened, now I'm out to prove it)... I'll definitely press charges. Watch the bartender make your drink, no matter where you go. These dru gs can K I L L a person. Our drinks were *never* out of our direct control except when the bartender was making it. One of the last things I remember was the very odd look in his eyes. We didn't get r aped because our third friend (who didn't drink the same drinks) took care of us. A guy did try to take my friend... it's a detail she vaguely remembers, and believes he was a bartender. I believe she was the target, but impossible to get just her since I bought us two of the same drink. It certainly won't be the last time this guy tries this, so if you care for your safety, stay FAR AWAY from Tia Lou's. I always liked it up until last night. I'll never go there again. Heck, after that, I'll probably never go clubbing again. Sorry for the spacey words; Citysearch wouldn't let me submit certain words, but I thought it critical other ladies knew about this.
Worst Place in Seattle – The night I spent at Tia Lou's was the worst I have ever had. The bouncers were so rude and on power trips!!! The place was overcrowded and the drinks were expensive. Upon entering the club I was flashed in the face with one bouncers flashlight and asked if I was doing all right obviously to see how sober I was. Then about an hour later a friend went to use the restroom and immediatly returned with anouther flashlight escorting him. We all at that time were rudely told we had to go. We all got to be escorted out to the sidewalk by this powertripping a-hole. Though I take it as a thank you for getting me out of that hole. If you want to have a good time go anywhere else but here!!!!!!!!!!!
You ignored the reviews and went anyway? I already know how your night went – You are hoping to have a fun night out on the town. Everyone wants to go dancing. One of your friends recommends Tiu Lou's in Belltown. You are skeptical, which is how you landed here. You've read the reviews. You are beginning to doubt but "can it really be that bad? My friends like it...?". Fast forward to your night. You decide to ignore the many negative reviews and go anyway. You are at Tia Lou's and you hate it. The bouncers are pushing and yelling. The patrons are handsy clubbed out leg humpers. Every few minutes, drips of cold water land on your head. Considering the crowd, you wonder if it's a loogie. This place is craaap. Why didn't we go to a good bar -- like anywhere else. You think back to this review and think...I shoulda listened. This is all my fault.
Fear not. You are still reading this review. You're not actually there. Here is your chance to make the right decision and save everyone's night - beleive the reviews. Avoid this place. Play Xbox. Play Scrabble. Go anywhere else, but here.
The worst place ever! Avoid at all costs if you care about your safety! – My friend and I UNFORTUNATELY went to this place on a Saturday night without reading any of the reviews and now we wish we did. ALL OF THE REVIEWS HERE WHO TALK ABOUT THE SH**TY STAFF ARE TRUE. It was 20 minutes to 2 am when they stopped the music and people started to leave. I was waiting for my friend to finish his drink (which he got a minute ago btw), then this pi**sy bouncer approached us and told us to leave. When I told him that we would leave right after my friend finishes his drink (not to mention more than half of the people were still inside), he told us in a very rude manner that we should leave right away. The second time I told him the same thing and also told him that we have 15 more minutes, he started shouting at me. Then a few more a**hole bouncers came too and they all started to physically push us and kicked us out of the club. WE WERE TOSSED BECAUSE OF NO REASON. WE DID NOT DO ANYTHING AND WE DID NOT EVENT RESIST TO THOSE MISERABLE BAST**DS. I also ended up having a minor neck injury. The problem is these f**king bouncers think they have every right to do in that place including physical assault (probably because they are all sh**ty heads and get no respect elsewhere). DO NOT GO TO THAT PLACE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR SAFETY SECURITY. If you are unfortunate like us, there's a link to the mayor of Seattle in one of the reviews here (which is written by a LADY who had a similar incident). Please DO WRITE A COMPLAINT.
GREAT PLACE-GREAT DECK-GREAT SERVICE-GREAT DRINKS – We went there with a large group 30-40, and the service was very good. The drinks were priced right and plenty strong, we also got there early and had some great appetizers. The deck upstairs is an excellent place to cool off. Really good dance floor with TONS of hot women.
terrible experiance – My friends and I went out for a bachelorette party a couple of weekends ago. My friend was standing at the top of the stairs waiting for the bachelorette to finish using the bathroom when a bouncer grabbed my friends arm and told her very rudely to move. My friend stated that she was waiting for the bachelorette because she was very intoxicated and wanted to make sure that she made it down the stairs safe. The bouncer started pushing my friend very aggressively down the stairs. As my friend was reaching her arm out to grab the bachelorette, the bouncer said that he did not care if the bachelorette made it down the stairs safely. Even though my friend was not in anyones way, the bouncer said that she needed to move and pushed her down the stairs. My friend fell down the stairs and bruised her knee. I tried to talk to the bouncer, and asked him why he pushed my friend down the stairs. He said that it was none of my business and then pushed me down the stairs. When we got back up from the bottom of the stairs, two guys had seen what happened and tried to stand up for us. The bouncers threw them out in a very aggressive manner as well. I do not understand why my friend and I were thrown down the stairs just for trying to make sure our bachelorette friend made it down the stairs safely. Tia Lou's is the place to go if you want to be thrown down a flight of stairs for laughs.
Skeevy bar staff – TWO WEEKENDS IN A ROW I went here on Friday night. And TWO WEEKENDS IN A ROW my bartender brought me an inordinately high bar tab that I LATER FOUND OUT WAS ARBITRARILY INFLATED BY THE BARTENDERS!
The first Friday, I asked for an itemized bill, they said they didn't have one and showed me the scrap of paper he tallied drinks on. A minute later, he came back to me with a bill that was $15 LESS than the original saying he made a mistake. Shady?
The second Friday, I closed out my tab and again I had no idea how it could be that much. I asked for an itemized tab--he refused. When I again asked to see how he got the total, in a more direct and aggressive manner, he went and got a bouncer...who went and got a second bouncer because he was about half my size.
The place is a joke. If you want to dance, go to Trinity or LSC. If you want girls, go to ANY of the other countless bars/restaurants that line 1st ave. If you'd like some skeevy mexicans and pvssy bouncers to attempt to take you for your money, well then I guess you should go to Tia Lou's.
Sweet Venue – I don't what everyone else is talking about on this forum. Tia Lou's is the place to be on Friday and Saturday night. Huge crowds, tons of hot girls, and I have never had a problem with the staff. In fact, the bouncers started recognizing me after going there for a few weeks in a row and would even helped me cut the line. The only complaint I heard was that the door guys wouldn't accept expired ID's and were enforcing the dress code. So I guess, you should make sure your ID isn't expired and NOT show up with a hat, sports jersey, or tall-T. Great drinks, lots of bars, great DJ and a deck that is the highlight of the club. Definitely worth checking out. !!
