WORST GAY BAR IN NEW YORK CITY – HAVING JUST BEEN VERBALLY ABUSED BY THE DOORMANS GIRLFREIND I ADVISE ANY GAY MAN NOT TO GO TO THIIS BAR

It Depends When You Go – It really is a hit and miss here, the biggest problem this place has is the regular customers, they are really rude, one elderly black lady and her friends made customers move so she could have the same seat she always sits in and the bartenders did nothing for the customers in this respect. How do you entice new people to come back and maybe be new regulars when they sit and kiss up to the same old people and ignore everyone else. When one white guy, who stands out because most of the customers are either black or latin, and he is tall and very Irish comes in with food for the workers (I thought that was a health hazard) takes up everyones time and you realize you are being overcharged because his bill is being comped, not good. But go when they are not there, if that ever happens, and it does, the bartenders are more friendly then, the drinks are better, and you get service.

Good if you're single and like to be groped by old, ugly men – One of the last times I visited this establishment, the owners were nowhere to be found, as the bouncer was carrying on like a crazy drag-queen with his hair on fire. It was noticeable that he was letting in a slew of rather young-looking customers enter the bar. The entrance of this bar has a clumsy, not-so-friendly-to-customers design, which seems like a bottleneck/hour-glass walkway that gets extremely crowded, leaving you open to eventually getting groped by toothless retirees with serious gingivitis issues sitting out front, as they look for their evening adoption. To the rear of the bar (past the bottleneck walkway -- if you ever make it back there), there's a little more space which surrounds a pool table, make-shift stage for their male dancers, and another bar further towards the back of the establishment. Towards the rear of the place you will find their inadequately-sized coat-check, and a poorly-ventilated restroom requiring the use of an oxygen mask. You may need to bring your own can of Lysol because there's way too much traffic in both bathrooms, which are not cleaned periodically. Drinks are well made (trust me, they're good, but you'll need a strong drink to make for a better night here); most of the bartenders are approachable, one little bartender lacks English skills; the occasional male dancer can entertain the crowd, although you can tell when he's not a gay dancer because he's only shifting left-to-right (as if though he were forcing a bowel movement), without teasing the crowd.

Down to Earth Place – This bar is a very cool place in the city where you can meet some down to earth guys.. Mixed crowded, age and race. Decent looking guys are there. Great specials on drinks on everyday of the week. Not your gay Chelsea crowd. A lot more masculine. The bartenders are great and the music is good. Cool place to hang out on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday night..

A West Village cruise staple that's somewhere between gay bar and gray bar. – Gunmetal-gray aviation-inspired decor is a little slapdash, while the ruffled ceiling belongs in a theme restaurant. Still, this long, dark bar is one of the few on the block that hasn't gone the CD jukebox route. If you feel like your Cher shouldn't cost you a quarter, you're in the right place. Unlike the snug bars nearby, this place opens up into warehouse proportions in the back, although you're likely to be in the way of a serious pool player's cue stick there. There's also a stage, but it's mostly used as seating with the occasional go-go boy on weekends. Overall, the vibe is fairly casual.

Cruisey popular bar – Crowded, noisy, dimly lit, cruisey, mixed ages and races. If you want a pick-up for the night, this is a good place to hang out, particularly if you look cute and buff. If you like to watch guys with chiseled bodies with few clothes gyrating on a podium, this is a good place to be. A narrow bar with loads of atmosphere for you to yell at your friends through while passers by jostle your bottle into your front teeth from time to time. If you are into the scene in a big way, this is undeniably a popular bar that does what it does very well and that you need to visit. If youre young, look good and are available then you should have a fruitful and fun time here. Just leave your brain at home, its not what people came here to find out about. Theres pool too.
