Bargain heaven! – You know it wasn’t until my mother visited that I really stepped foot in this store and took advantage of it. I love shopping for bargains and who doesn’t living in an expensive city. This has been one fantastic find. I thought Century 21 was awesome (well still could be, they have a larger selection overall), but this place has cheaper prices. I love it! I’m going to keep coming back now.
Let’s just say designer jeans for way less than what you would pay elsewhere. It was so refreshing to see all of them at a great price. I also had a great time in the shoe department. I’m not too sure but I think it might have beaten DSW prices too. My mom enjoyed shopping here too even though there are bigger ones in the suburbs and obviously faster service overall.
Yep, you’ll find long lines here too. It’s kind of customary on the weekends in these designer discount stores. It gets crowded and you have to search in a couple places for your right size. That won’t stop me from coming back to my new shopping place.
Pleasantly Surprised – Now that it’s wedding season, I’m in wedding attire shopping mode. Recently I was jumping from boutique to boutique in Chelsea looking for the perfect dress for my best friends wedding, when I stumbled upon Loehmann’s department store. I figured it was worth a try to stop in and see what they had on the rack and I am sure glad I did. This store offers a wide variety of designer wear for less. They carry everything from under garments to jeans to skirts and formal wear.
On this particular trip I was looking for a dress so I went straight to the dress department. This area was neatly organized with large racks of dresses displayed in size order as well as some smaller racks with different sizes of the same dress.
I was very surprised at the large selection of up-to-the-minute dresses they had. I thought the items would be more like last seasons styles since they sell everything at discount prices but that was not the case at all.
I selected a slew of dresses and bought them all into the dressing room. I ended up with four, which I purchased and to me that made this trip a huge success.
I hope to return soon to check out some of their other items. Rumor has it they carry a ton of designer jeans. I can’t wait for my next trip.
SOME designer labels, but not designer quality – Loehmann's is not the real deal when it comes to DESIGNER clothing (unlike Century 21, which IS the real deal).
The clothes at Loehmann's are extremely "basic" and in many instance of poor quality. Sure they have "designer" clothes by the likes of DKNY etc., but it's very obvious that the designer simply sold the rights to their name to a lower-end clothing manufacturer, and then stuck the designer label on it. That, or else the clothes are just the bottom-of-the-barrel line for these designers.
But if you want QUALITY, high-end designer clothes at a discount, you are not going to find them here. For that, you need to go to Century 21....
A few reviewers here said this place is less-crowded (than Century 21). Did you ever think that maybe there's a reason why fewer people go to Loehmann's? People in the know...people who have an eye for real quality...for real high fashion...know that the better clothing is at C 21.
Loehmann's has the best deals for retail clothing – I've been shopping at Loehmann's for years, and I viist all the ones around me sporadically throughout the week just to find any sales that may be in one or another. They do an amazing job of helping you out and the prices on discount designer apparel you can find is amazing.
I absolutely love Loehmann's, and go there litterally every week.
Truly great discount clothing! – Loehmann's has some of the best products at the lowest prices. I've been going there for years for work, school and now I bring my kids there as well. They're site has a great fashion blog on it too, so even if I can't get out to shop I can still find out about new fashions. If you are anywhere near one of their stores, do yourself a favor and check out some of their great discount designer clothing stores. Highly recommended!
Great finds – Great place to shop for designer discounts. Skip Century 21 and come here. It's much neater and easier to navigate. The dressing rooms usually have long lines but that's to be expected. This store has things from every brand and price point you can imagine.
High-end brand-name apparel, shoes and accessories for bargain shoppers. – In Short
Founded in Brooklyn in 1921 as a small designer-resale shop, Loehmann's has since secured a national reputation for upscale bargain shopping. Neat racks are conveniently sorted by designer, so bargain hunters can easily find their favorite in-season styles and brands from 30 to 65 percent off department store prices. The main draw is women's apparel, but shoes, accessories and fragrances are also available.
Good Value, What you come to NYC for – This store originated in New York City, but they have locations accross the US. Large selection, very crowded when I went, but fast check out. There was so much stuff there that I didn't have enough money. If you join their club, you get 15% off your purchase if it is your birthday(four days before and after)! Made it even a better value for me. I saved $57 on what I bought. Lots of name brand stuff, Micheal Kors, Mark Jacobs, Kenneth Cole, Etc for guys. Some things hard to find in Small and Medium for Guys but plenty of L, XL, and XXL. A must visit for NYC bargains and shopping if you like fashions. Shop here and Loftworks for good values. Don't go to find outlet or cheap jacks.
Designer discount mecca – I love Century 21, but for women's clothing and shoes, I'd rather shop Loehmann's any day. It's less crowded. You can actually find things; everything's not quite so crammed together. The staff actually makes an attempt to be helpful and pleasant. And the prices are great.
The best Loehmann's ever – If you love Loehmann's, you must make a pilgrimage to this one. Hands down it is the best Loehmann's I have ever shopped in. Plan to spend at lease a half a day to get through all the floors. Start in the huge handbag department, make your way through the shoes (I found the funkiest red DKNY boots in here last winter) and the jewelry (all three departments are on the first floor). Then work your way up through the multiple floors of women's cloths. Men's department (in the basement) is superior, too.
