User review by vrb – I have attended a couple of amazing parties at this place. It's a beautiful space and the staff works so hard to make your experience special. The cocktails are wonderful. It's truly worth going out of your way. And head upstairs to the Velvet Lounge if you can!

Tai restaurant and velvet lounge – You work very hard on big groups and then when the bill comes they find something to complain about. If people are dissatified they should say something during not after. People work very hard and to get out of paying a tip is not cool. I love this place.

worst place to eat ever – I STRONGLY DO NOT recommend this place. The service in this place was extremely bad. We sat down for a good 20 minutes and nobody offered us any water, or even to take an order for drinks. Then the bartender did a horrible job with the drinks. We waited a long time just for our drinks, and then after we ordered our food, we waited a good half hour, if not more. Then when the food came, it was cold. The soup came after the entree, the waitress was rude and gave an attitude when she was asked where was the missing dishes we ordered. The waitress was utterly incompetent when it came to who ordered what dish.

first time and last time – what a night i had. i dont consider myself to be cheap but 20% gratuity? isnt that too much? i never had the worst sirlion steak in the world, came out cold. service in there is the worst. we were sitting there for a whole 10 to 15 mins before i was able to get her attention just to place in an drink order. . i agree with the other person about this place being a "hell kitchen" food were not coming out together and late with no apology at all,a friend of mine need to cancel her order because she cant wait while all of us finished our meal.tonight i felt i was being extorted on the tips. 20% haha. get some stars or relocate to midtown then we talk. i would never go back to this place and i strongly dont recommend this place to anyone.

Very Bad – The place looks good, but the service was bad. There was only one restroom for everyone. The food came an hour later and they were cold, and they food was not even authentic Thai food (i dont know what they were trying to serve there). And they had the nerves to put a 20% gratuity on the bill, when i think they only deserve 15%. Do not go if you want good service and good food.

Underdelivered – We had a small party to celebrate a birthday. Absolutely refused to add chicken to the Kee Mao, even though the Pad Thai came with meat. Special of the day was sea bass but kitchen was out(we were there @ 7 PM). Food was delivered to the wrong person. Three didn't even get dinner. Expected more for what was paid. Wait staff constantly blamed the kitchen. Had to call the wait staff 4x for water. Wait staff forgot to put the ice cream cake in the freezer and delivered a melted cake for the birthday trio. Refused to give a credit for cake and food until pressed. Manager hid in the back while wait staff got blasted.

Totally Addictive – I consider myself to be quite a well balanced human being...however after eating at Tai 1year ago it has become quite an addiction!!! The food is AMAZING, with all the flavours that you would expect to experience if you were actually in Thailand. The atmosphere is both hip and romantic and the cocktails....well just go and try for yourself!!! I absolutely encourage anyone to treat themselves to a great lunch, dinner or just drinks no-matter what the occassion.

What Happened to My Fiancee's birthday? – One waitress for the whole restaurant? They forgot to put my ice cream cake in the freezer? I never got my entree? we ordered entrees at 745 and didn't get them until after 9PM? We made a reservation for a party of 25 and they were totally unprepared. The manager wouldn't even speak to us, he sent his bartender to do the dirty work. Ever watched "hell's kitchen" on TV? I just lived it last night! What kind of asian rest. RUNS OUT OF RICE??? What kind of restaurant has no utensils for their patrons? Not recommended for larger parties...you will regret it! On a final note... after that horrible night.. they had the nerve to tack on gratuity to the bill!?!?!?! The manager was utterly useless. learn to deal with the public mr. manager.... learn to take criticism, and learn to step up when your team drops the ball!

Definitely worth the trip – Food-Good. Atmosphere-Even Better. Service-Top Notch. You don't need to worry about the waitstaff watching you like vultures and ushering you out the door, so relax, take your time, and actually enjoy the food. Good eating for sure.
