Anywhere but here! – I have been here about 5 times in the past two years. A couple of times, I went along with a group of friends who wandered in after dinner. A few times, I agreed to meet a pal there who lived nearby. I have never been able to get a perfectly cold, well made Cosmopolitan here. Always warm (never ice cold) and strange tasting. One time I ordered a beer on tap. There was something wrong with the keg and the beer tasted like it had gone bad. Sure enough, without any apology, the bartender laughed and said, "Yup, this is a bad keg. Want something else?" I once got a bottle of Budweiser here over the winter that was so warm that it felt like someone had put it on a heater. Who are the bartender's who work here? It's not a good place to go for premium cocktails made by skilled bartenders. Even the beer I have been served has been completely effed up. If you choose to go here, good luck with the booze. I hear that the comedy acts that come in here are AMAZING though. For that, perhaps it will be worth your while to pay a visit.

the bartender asked us to be quiet while the band was playing??? – I went for drinks on a Friday evening with some colleagues. A 2-man band played, and the crowd was very quiet. Then, the bartender "shushed" my friend twice and asked me once to be quiet. The band itself was good, but they seemed to be singing the same monotonous type of song so I didn't think it was strange that my friends and I were using a "bar"-appropriate volume of talking. I was rather suprised that we were expected to remain quiet throughout the entire time the band was playing when it seemed as though the band was playing background music. I am not going back.

bad service, bad attitude‎, avoid. – Stopped in for a beer after work. It was shortly after 6 p.m. and I guess they just opened. There were a bunch of people there to sign up for the open mic. I just wanted a beer. I sat down in a barstool. And sat. And waited. "You're gonna have to give me a few minutes, OK?" Yeah fine whatever. I sit and wait some more. She wasn't even busy doing anything! I think she may have casually counted a small stack of bills. Bartender's friend walks in and they exchange hugs and start chatting. I ask, "Do you sell beer here or not?" "Yes we sell beer! but you're going to have to give me like 5 minutes!"

I just wanted a can of PBR. I didn't say a word and just walked out. I won't be returning. Plenty of other bars to spend my money at in the neighborhood.

In case the owner or manager sees this - female bartender, longish brown wavy hair, cranky attitude -- get rid of her!

Friendly Bar, Great Live Music – This is a great neighborhood hangout (slightly out of the way of Park Slope's 'restaurant row,' but that just keeps the crowds down), the martini's ARE fabulous, though I'm more of a beer girl myself. Beer selection is pretty good, they have your standards on tap. The bartenders are very sweet, and there seems to be a pretty friendly local crowd, as I often see the same people there.

My favorite thing about Bar 4, however, is the live music. It's a small place, so it's surprising that they host such loud (but good!) bands as often as they do - although there are often quiet acoustic sets too. Many of the local bands I've seen perform here now grace my iPod, and every time I listen to one of them, I think about the good times I had at Bar 4.

excellent decor – overall super cute, most times good crowd with the exception of not being able to converse during open mic nites. Always a good place to stop by on my way home....keeping me out later than i should be.

Worth stopping in from time to time and checking out the hip scene here.

Brooklynites are trading in their unforgiving barstools for – Bar business veterans Ted Mann and Larry Hyland, along with designer Louis Delgado, aligned the walls with the ubiquitous banquettes flanked by low tables and movable ottomans, painted the walls in earth tones and installed a small stage in the front. The bar is slightly dazzling--or perhaps that's just the starry-eyed prospect of a freshly shaken martini. The mirror behind the bar reflects the glasses on the shelves, lending the bar area a sort of ethereal glow. The martini, in all its glorious classic and flavored forms, is the foundation of the drink list, which also includes champagne cocktails, scotches, teas and coffee drinks.

Cramped but Cool – Late night, this place gets busy & you have to sit on your friend's laps. The music can get kinda loud so you have to scream your order at the bartender, after using air-traffic-control signals to get his attention. But once settled into a coveted cosy corner, with drink in hand, it's a little more dealable.

Interesting artwork on the walls. Whoever said "bring a date" is right - the wolves will get you if spotted sitting alone for one second. Those Brooklyn boys!

SO Manhattan w/out the attitude or price – beautiful space, nice bartenders, yummy $6 martinis, and always great music. Quiet, mellow, and romantic. I think drinks are half-price until 7
