Used to be great. Now its just terrible.. Living in the Neighborhood, we used to visit this place very often. Even before it moved to its new fancy location. We would take friend from out of town to this place and show them the new Williamsburg style. Everything used to be great. Authentic food, prices and service.

For some reason the last couple times we went there, the experience was just awful. The service being by far the worst factor. Unatentive staff, totally unmotivated. Then, I wonder if they haven't noticed that the space is in urgent need of restoration. Paint is chipping off from the walls. The tables and chairs are old and falling appart. Now to the food. As I said, it used to be good. Now its bland and generic. The Sushi was just terrible, and nothing tasted really good.

Again, this review is not based on just one bad experience but rather several over the course of the last 2 months. I hope the owners of PT will read this, and start making changes to turn around the place. Otherwise I definetely see it going down the drrain soon.

The best Manhattan Thai food that's not in Manhattan. Planet Thailand is great -- not only because it's affordable, easy to get to, and chill, with plenty of tables and edgy artistic decor -- but because the food is fantastic! I have been to a number of high-priced, pretentious Thai restaurants in and out of the city, and Planet Thailand takes the cake (minus the pretentiousness and high prices). My only complaint is that it may take a while to be seated, so get there early on a Friday or Saturday night. Drinks are decent and strong, although the bartenders also have a tendency to ignore you.

If you like to be ignored, sit at a dirty table, and eat mediocre food. As a pioneer type out here in Williamsbrug, I am sad to annouce that PLANET THAI STINKS and is off my list. It used to be ok, but it isn't like the old days any more. I just returned from the last dinner I will ever have there.

Tonight, when finally the fourth employee we encountered actually looked and responded to us, we were seated at a table. We ordered quickly but then I realized how gross the table was, as I needed to unstick my sweatshirt from it! We told one of the waitresses and she pointed for us to move to the next table without cleaning that one! The next table was just as filthy and we asked another waitress to clean our new table; We had to insist that the first table also needed cleaning! She feebly wipes off the table with water but it didn't remove the crusty things. I wiped up some with my napkin and showed her how dirty it was. All this without a word. I was dumbstruck. She went away. Now we are sitting trying to flag someone down to get some napkins. I see our Sushi up on the order up spot. I see our waiter- he was busy but now is standing next to our food! I make eye contact with him and look at the food. His eyes follow mine but then decides to take a hike up to the other end of the restaurant. So blatant! Complainer- you must wait! I never complain at restaurants but this was turning into a really bad time. When we get the food it is rubbery and gross. I have never seen my boyfriend leave sushi. Of course we don't get any water refills. $35 for a lousy time. I was sad that one of my standard places has to on the boycott list. It is serious when you have to draw the line. I go up to the cashier who ingored me. I stood there silently knowing my boyfriend was doing the same. He finally looks up and we ask him if there is a manager we could speak to. There is no manager tonight. Is there anyone else? I am only the cashier. Is there anyone who cares? NO.

The maitre d' is now outside smoking so we just give up.

good service too..... good experience,

I was staying in Wiliamsburg for one month and had diner several times.

The thai food was excellent, and the japanese starters were good.

I will come back in future,

Yee Ling and Marc from Amsterdam.

Planet Thai, very poor service and lets not evwn talk about food!!. It took forever to get anyone to take us to our table, the music was so loud I had to scream so my date could hear me, after waiting 15 mins for anyone to come over and ask us what we want eat, it took another 30 mins to get our appetizers, which followed by another 30 mins wait for our entree, which the waiter screw up!!! The decor of the restaurant has nothing to do with Thailand anything of that sort!!! Planet Thai is a confused hybrid between bad Thai and even worse Japanese... If you are looking for a good Thai food with an authentic decor I recommend SEA which is only one block away on N6th.

BAD OVER PRICED FOOD AND AWFUL SERVICE. BAD OVER PRICED FOOD AND AWFUL SERVICE

I'LL NEVER GO BACK !! THEY LOOK AT YOU AS A NUMBER AND THEY WANT YOU IN AND OUT FAST.

THE FOOD IS REALLY BELOW AVERAGE AND THE PLATE THAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE HIGH END ARE AWFUL AND MASKED WITH A LOT OF SPICES. SERVICE IS THE WORST.

BESIDES I THINK IT SHOULDN'T BE IN WILLIAMSBURG.... IT COULD BLEND IN NJ OR LA ENVIRONMENT, NOT BROOKLYN.

Terrific Thai food at great prices. It is a fun place for a large group or even a casual date. The food selection is vast and the prices are very cheap. The ambiance is also interesting and certianly worth the trip to Williamsburg!

Welcome to Manhattan Planet Thailand!. I love this place! What a great addition to the area (the one in Brooklyn has been so popular for years). Even though it's a Thai restaurant I find the sushi to be the real star of this place! The decor is so fabulous, and dramatic too. I've been here several times, dinner and lunch too, and will dfinitely make it a regular place--the prices are out of this world. One of the most affordable NICE restaurants in NYC!

Worth a Trip to Brooklyn. Planet Thai is great! We love the food, drinks, and atmosphere! The svc can be a bit rude at times, esp if you have big group, but overall the restaurant is a must! Try the Pad Thai, it's fabulous and their prices are so cheap! Just because it's cheap does NOT mean the portions are small or the food is nasty, IT IS GREAT! Just remember, the later you go, the longer you may have to wait. It's popular w/the late crowd.
