Review of 203 Spring – 203 boasts a typicalsexy, sometimes crowded, lounge feel for the mixed crowd and table dancing enthusiasts. Early hours are best if you want to enjoy a romantic date out on the town. For a full venue profile, go to NightLifeRatings . com
Give Me a Break – I passed by on a Friday night with 5 other people (three couples), the bouncer told us we could have "bottle service only". I was ready to skip it as I am a bit over that but my friends wanted to stay. $350 dollars later gets you one bottle of Grey Goose, crap service and a bunch of drunk people banging into you. The DJ was good though. I will admit that.
DON'T DO IT!!! Don't waste your time! – I had my b-day party here. The OWNER "wouldn't let me" have my party at his other lounge, Soho323 which I wanted because my celebrity friends want to keep a low profile in a private area (I would pay big $ to reserve). He talked me into 203Spring; it was awful! He cut me deals because he wouldn't do Soho323 (no bottle requirements and guaranteed all my people would get in etc.), only to find his RUDE staff was never informed about my party! Your money will be appreciated elsewhere and your guests won't be offended (a friend is a TV personality and was insulted by a waitress who asked if she was sure that her card worked because she had never seen it before!!!). The dj was nice and he actually acknowledged that my crowd was making the party that night. Atleast they let us dance on the tables!
super crowded – The decor was great, the martinis strong and pricy, the DJ played the best mixes that I have heard in awhile... but with as many people as they let in there is just not enough room! It has little sq chairs which make the room look really cool, until you have seen the 5th (no exageration) person trip and fall to the ground. I would recomend as a stop over if in the area but not a #1 pick. Also make sure to go to the bathroom before going there because the line is at least a 20 min wait for both guys and girls.
average bar – This place is just your regular bar - don't go expecting anything more, but a nice place to stop in with a few friends and have a drink or two. Average crowd, average music, but the bartenders were great - very attentive. The place gets crowded, but if you don't mind the occasional draft by the front door, it's pretty easy to get a seat at the bar.
Relaxed and laidback – The big dude standing out front looks intimidating, but he was nice to my friend when she when outside to smoke. It was a quiet night, which surprised me b/c it was a Thursday, about 30 people in total in the bar. The drinks are overpriced- $11/mixed- but strong and the bartender was nice. The DJ came over and introduced himself and asked us if we had any requests. Overall, a very chill place, definitely recommend. I'm interested to return when it's a little more crowded.
What a great place! – There a very few lounges left like this. Very friendly, great place to meet cool people. You can tell it has many regulars. The crowd is really cool. I love the size of their martinis. This lounge has that old school feel, mixed with that trendy lounge appeal. When you want a place to go to with no hassels, but only to have fun, then check this place out.
Crowded – I recently stopped in here with my girlfriend on a Friday night and it was ridiculously crowded. It was good that there was no cover because we didn't stay long. Couldn't even get to the bar to get drinks. Seems like it could be a cool place though I may try it again on a week night.
A sultry scenery and unpretentious servers make this the friendliest unmarked bar in Soho. – The Scene
Thick curtains obscure the long, sleek bar from the outside world, but the most mysterious aspect of this unmarked corner bar is its ability to maintain an underground vibe on the well-traveled corner of Spring and Sullivan. In the larger back room, exotic paintings and statues complement the exposed brick walls and sconces add low lighting.
Smoldering candlelight, velvety sofas and beautiful people tossing each other come-hither glances are a dime a dozen in this neighborhood, but a friendly staff makes the usual sexy Soho fare feel like a private party. The bar allows for easy socializing, and cozy seating in the back room makes this a perfect after-work date spot--before the nighttime crowd takes over. Drinks are pricey, but the 203 French Martini, a refined mix of raspberry and vanilla vodka, raspberry liquor and pineapple juice, is worth the splurge.
The Jem of Soho – I go to many lounges but I found the cutest place in Soho. I was there this Saturday, it was great. They had a funky crowd , people dancing on tables & a great dj keeping them moving. The cocktail waitresses were attractive & on point. My friend had her birthday party here. They were even kind enough to bring our cake out, cut it & serve to all our guests. The whole staff was very accomodating. From the door man to the host to the waitress. I would definatley go back. I give 203 Spring my two thumbs up. Good job!!!
