My favorite spot – I'm from Queens but I travel to the LES to go to Bob! The atmosphere is awesome, the bouncers are cool as hell, the music is always good and the drinks are relatively cheap and strong... When I've had one of those days or just want to let loose I head to Bob's! I absolutely love this place.
bebob – yeah yeah bob... the girl to guy ratio was terrible. all the girls without boys were on the floor. I tried dancing by myself but got depressed as there were more guys on the dance floor than girls too. the music was good and i wanted to dance but again the 1 GIRL to 2 GUY sucked. I guess it was a night that they let too many guys in the joint. I found the bouncers were friendly when i joked around with them though. i'll go again but i'm definately taking a date next time. too many dudes. girls it's in your favor.
A pickup spot big on hip-hop and local art. – The Scene
This tiny, poorly ventilated lounge on a rather desolate, trash-heavy street on the Lower East Side might be one of downtown's most beloved drink and dance destinations. On any night, lounge kings, college students, artists and regular funk freaks come to get a glimpse of local art adorning the brick walls, and a taste of the soulful, mostly hip-hop-oriented sound selection provided by rotating DJs.
Most of the lounge's acclaim comes from its straight hook-up scene. You'll definitely rub up against somebody at least once in this tightly packed room. Given the club's rather intimate ambience, any night seems crowded, but bargoers will have the hardest time squeezing in from Wednesday to Sunday.
Can always relay on bOb's bar! – This is my favorite local spot. When people go to this bar, for some reason, they just let loose. This is the perfect place to be for a laid back scene where people arent too worried about sweating and getting their make up ruined. Go for the best hip hop and reggae music you'll ever hear at a local bar, that is if you're not afraid of a little sweat! Oh yeah...the bouncers have to be a little rude, they cant let everyone in there, its a very small bar. Advice: get on their good side, I guarantee you'll never have a problem getting in again!
SO MUCH FUN – I'm speaking as somebody who used to go to Bob's all the time. Bob's is the most chill, fun hip-hop spot in NYC. It is probably smaller than your living room, but that adds to the charm. You can't find a friendler crowd, the music is fabulous, and the drinks are strong and cheap. The bartenders are nice, though they need to start giving more free drinks, especially when you've spent a lot of money at the bar. If you want a good scene with no pretention, great people, and reliable, great hip-hop, r&b, and reggae, then bob's is a must.
Hooray bOb's for a great time!!! – go to bOb's if you want a blast. it's ultra ghetto, but it's just SO fun. it's like the college days: ghetto partying at its finest. amazing music? FUN crowd? trying to meet someone hot but so very cool too? or wanna just chill w/your friends or relieve stress? bOb's IS the place for all that and more. it's small & crowded but it's got such character - chill, smooth. and easygoing. people just go up and talk to each other, i got to talk to many, but spent most of my time there w/the hottest guy i've ever seen in NYC & got some stares from the other girls who wanted him! :) ...just note your drink may get bumped out of your hand because it does get crowded. & make sure you go to the bathroom beforehand because the line is LONG here. happy bOb-ing!
this place is what you make of it... – i went to bob with two girlfriends and we had a fabulous time. but, i don't think that that was because of anything special about the place itself, but more because we *wanted* to have a great time that night... it REALLY is just a small place to get drinks and dance. also, it was a thursday and we didn't have to pay any cover.
Really chill – This place is sooo cool. The drinks are cool ($7). I had a blast with my girlfriends.
Great Hip Hop Joint – Fun people over here. Went one night for a birthday party and danced up a storm. It's tight quarters so when it gets full it can get a bit crowded, especially with those dancer's who take up way too much room b/c of lack of coordination, you know what im talking about. But overall, a good buy in the lower east side with great hip hop.
WOW!!!!! – What a GREAT find, loved it.....Great atmosphere, great drinks, great music, and a great place to meet people I will be back...
