Double the pleasure with interesting panoramic views from each side of this legendary landmark. – Overview
Straddling the Charles River between downtown Boston and the city of Cambridge, this 2,034-foot span (officially known as the Harvard Bridge) was built back in the 1800s, and then rebuilt later in the century. Fun fact: Harvard folks felt smugly that their school deserved to have the bridge named after it. The rival brains down the road at MIT concurred when they did a structural analysis of the bridge and found it to be defect-ridden.
Along with four lanes for motor vehicles, there are walkways for biking, walking and running; loop routes are available. Don't miss a ride across the bridge when the sky is clear, night or day. On sunny days, be sure to check out the armada of sailboats on the river.
Lost Keys – I went on the mass. ave. bridge with a friend (female) at midnight to look for my other friend's keys which he had lost. we did not find the keys, but we had a great walk and the view was incredible.
