Editorial Review for Mount Washington – by Citysearch Editors
In Short
New England's highest, windiest and rockiest peak is also a spot that offers the best alpine flora, the best late-season, hike-in skiing and the most dramatic views in the region. The 6,288-foot summit is the busiest White Mountain peak on sunny summer days, with tourists arriving via auto and train as well as trail. About a dozen routes will get hikers to the top. The most dramatic is the 3.9 mile Tuckerman Ravine Trail from Pinkham Notch.
