5 of us 48 yr old Mom's went to Acme Comedy last night. What a horrible experience we had! The moment we sat down we were hounded by a sweaty pig bouncer that we laughed too loud and apparently we weren't supposed to whisper our drink order. Were we supposed to use sign language to the waitress? Seriously, there was maybe 60 people in this audience....gee I wonder why! We were ready for a comedy and that means laughing and having a good time with friends. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE. The manager did not care about our unfair treatment. His reaction was pretty much..."Oh well"

Go but Don't Laugh... Bad Management team – Have you ever heard of going to a comedy club and not laughing? Well, apparently, that is policy at Acme Comedy! We were enjoying the opening two acts and commenting on the funny jokes, when one of the bar managers came up and told us not to laugh or make comments back to your significant other... We were confused, because I go to these type of clubs to laugh and have fun. So, if you are trying to go out some where and have fun, then DO NOT GO TO Acme Comedy.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Acme Comedy Club is the springboard for up-and-coming comics. This Warehouse District comedy club is a Minneapolis staple. Up-and-coming national acts set their sights on this 250-seat club and local comics wet their wings in this brick-lined basement, both on open-mic nights and as openers for bigger names. The seats are assigned with every ticket purchase, even for walk-ins, so there’s no awkward jockeying for seats before shows. And every seat is a good seat. In fact, Acme is cozy and intimate that, on good nights, it can feel like you’re all at a party together. Mixed drinks come in carafes, and there’s no minimum like there is at some clubs. Instead, the atmosphere is laid-back while still being fun and festive.

Help me understand – I made reservations through ticketweb for a larger party to attend the performance. The manager, John, was absolutely rude to myself and my guests. Upon arrival they first said that they didn't have any seats for us because we weren't there before 10pm. Then, when I pointed out to the staff that we had already paid for the tickets over a month ago they quickly put together seating for us. This was all fine except for the fact that the placed half of our group BEHIND A POLE in the middle of the theater!! When I went to talk to John again to try and figure out other options for seating he was rude, with no apology or accomodations. Now, myself and my significant other, who was having his 30th birthday that night, love Mitch Fatel. However, we could have done just as well to listen to him on XM Radio as all that we could see throughout the show was his hand occasionally from behind the pole. We will certainly not be attending comedy at Acme again and the 8 other guests and their friends probably won't either. It is too bad because I enjoy comedy.

management state "we don't want you..." – After going to this club almost 100 times, 90 to be exact, one show was terrible, that's bound to happen, but this was beyond terrible, it was over the top. I wrote an email to management to cal lans discuss what had happened, after writing 2 emails, he finally returned a call- at noon, on a sunday, to my office line- I jsut happened to be in. He immediatley was on the defensive, bad mouthing how I didn't understand comedy, I "must not be a very fun or funny guy, how I just didn't get it." I must not have, nor the other 50 people that walked out of the show. David Feldman was the comic that night, he was picking on pregnanat women in audience staing they were "whor**," security had to restain one guy b/c he would talk back and stand up for himself- he as not out of line in doing so. When the manager called, he was rude, interupted, was swearing, stated "acme doesn't want customers like you"... like me? I guess they don't want patons that go every other week, talk good about the club... I returned by saying "if you don't want good clients, I won't come back- I couldn't treat MY clients like that..... that's business sir" his return comment "F*** you" and hung up.... great way to treat you customers!

What a gem! – I first went to Acme when I saw it on NBC'S Last Comic Standing and I wasn't disappointed. The staff, comedy, atmospere was wonderful, and I felt a little cheeky and a bit smug about finding this jewel in my back door. I recommend this for anyone with a sense of humor, and an appetiete for great food and drinks!

Waiter, there's a ??? in my drink – Went recently with a group of 12 people. The atmosphere of the bar and club are both great, feels very hip. Although the club is no where near any place to go afterward, you will be captive in the club for a while if you have had a drink or two. Cheap bar food (good quality) is off-set of course by the spendy drinks - that is, if you can get one. Waitstaff in the bar brought 2 drinks to our table - one which had a fruit-fly floating in it, the other had sort of like a spitball frozen in the ice. Really disgusting, and management only comped the spitball drink. Try not to go with a large group or they will give you the cheap seats in the back of the room with only hightops or your knee to balance your drinks upon. Overall - comedians were above-average and atmosphere is good ; be wary of drinks served in the dark.

This Warehouse District stand-up spot showcases top national headliners, local comic favorites and deserve-to-be-seen newcomers. – In Short
The rough-hewn limestone blocks and warehouse-like basement surroundings are a perfect foil for the nation's top comics. The adjacent Sticks restaurant has graduated from its "everything on a skewer" theme and now serves more traditional fare. The crowd can be a bit thin on weeknights, but all 275 seats are usually filled on the weekends. Small wonder--these comics are at the top of their profession and usually fresh from gigs on the leading late-night shows.

Funny as H-E double L – We were held up at the ticket "booth" because they didn't get our confirmation for tickets we ordered through the web (it all finally worked out, but bring your confirmation #!). The pre-show bartender was rude. I went to get three of us a beer and she snottily said (after seeing I was well over 30) that she needed to see IDs for everyone. I told her to pour two more and I'd get the IDs (as she was pouring). She said "NO! I need their IDs FIRST!". As for the comedy, the headlining comedian we saw was absolutely hilarious. The carafe drinks were outstanding (try the Bomb Pop, YUM), but the waitress didn't come around much so others at the table were ordering 2 drinks at a time when she came.
