The 600-acre campus is a showcase for award-winning landscape design as well as Pueblo Revival and Spanish Colonial architecture. The Visitor Center offers free "Self-Guided Walking Tour" maps and can supply other helpful advice, such as where to find parking near this car-free campus.
The Geology Museum displays rare rock and fossil specimens from Earth, while the Meteorite Museum displays rocks from outer space. Learn how to dig for treasure in the Southwest at the Maxwell Museum of Anthropology. For nature lovers, the Museum of Southwestern Biology houses collections of plants and animals from the Southwest and South America. An impressive collection of work by student and established artists is on display at the University Art Museum, the John Sommers Gallery, and the Johnson Gallery. The Tamarind Institute, just across Central, is an internationally prominent center for lithography.
