Great Night in Espana – I dined here with a party of 6 with a reservation at 7P. Our whole party wasn't exactly on time, but they still seated us regardless, once more than half of them arrived. The place was packed so definitely make a reservation. The sangria was very well made, it went down way to easily. The service was great, perfect timing. They have a variety of tapas choices, I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates, you will be surprised. I know they also have a dinner menu as well, so it works for everyone. The atmosphere and decor is very inviting, it's traditional with a trendy flair. This is a great date place and can definitely be romantic, but you will not have any privacy since it's a busy place. There is also a bar, but seating is limited. Plus, they have a happy hour from 5-7P where the 2nd round is free I believe. Check it out!
food sucked – I took someone special to me here because she wanted to have something like a spanish cuisine. So i searched for a place that would have spanish food and a romantic environment. So I found this place and was disappointed. No one greeted us when we came in so we pretty much had to help ourselves to the back to get a waiter to give us a table. Everything looked nice, kinda like a medieval times vibe in there. Waiter was charming but not very articulate, when we asked for recommendations we did not understand even half of what she was talking about. We ordered 2 dishes of appetizers which both tasted soggy, bland and insipid. I ordered a rib eyed steak and i can say apple bee's steaks have much savoring and better taste than this. The dessert was okay.. ordered a vanilla flan but was small for it's price. Wine was good too.. If you plan on bringing someone special or girl friend, date or whatever, this is not the place to expect a satisfying meal.. The food here was definitely not worth it's price.. be expected to feel disappointed..
What a wonderful dinner! – I have been here several times, but I took a friend here last night to enjoy the wonderful array of tapas that Sala has to offer. Robert was very accommodating and even sat us in the dining area to enjoy the 1/2 price tapas. I must say this is the first place that I have been to where our bread was replenished without having to ask. Our tapas were to die for, extremely delicious. Eduardo our server was constantly checking to see if we needed anything including dessert, but we were both too full to take advantage. Sala will remain one of my favorite spots for a nice, cozy date!
Worst New York restaurant experince in 12 years – We were asked to leave three times (to free up the table, no other reason) before we had even received our check. The manager came out and threatened us. You are doubting this story. Who wouldn't? You are suspecting that we were unruly or rude or causing some kind of disturbance. I can only ask that you believe that we were dining quietly when we were asked and then told to leave. The behavior of the management of this restaurant was beyond anything we could have imagined. Closing this place would be a public service.
Fantastic tapas! – I've lived in Spain twice, so am always eager to find tapas restarants. Sala was wonderful. The wine list was great and the food was amazing. Make sure to try the almond-stuffed figs that are wrapped in bacon. They are one of the best things I have ever eaten! The fried goat cheese with honey was also to die for. The ambience was great, and both the bartender and our server were friendly and knowledgeable. With the 2 for 1 drinks happy hour special at the bar my friends and I are thinking about making it a weekly thing.
We LOVED it! – SO much fun for groups! Great tapas...AMAZING sangria...overall we were very impressed. Definitely a good romantic spot too. You can't go wrong at Sala!
Great place – I always enjoy going to Sala. It's not too crowded, has great decor, waiters and bartenders are laidback and friendly. Great sangria too. The menu has a wide variety of unique small dishes (which are delicious!).
Great value if you go at the right time – I highly recommend checking out Sala during 1/2-price tapas times. The value was incredible, the atmosphere was quiet and laid back and the service was great. I ordered the chorizo and if you would love to eat a big plate of sausage for $5, you won't be disappointed. Everything was delcious and the place was quite empty - we had the lounge to ourselves.
Great time at Sala – I took my girlfriend to Sala for her Bday, and we had a great time. I heard it gets crowded, so I made reservations and had no problems with seating. Our waitress was great, she made us feel very welcome, made recommendations, made sure not to rush us and let us enjoy the dinner. The food was very goodwe tried a bunch of small plates and 2 entrees, and lots of sangria. Everything was very well made and we left full and happy. It's a bit pricey, but worth it. If youre like us and like to try a little bit of everything and like to get drinks too, you'll get away with about $75p/pthe place looks very cool too. If youre a group of people call ahead for prompter seating. If its two of you call ahead and ask for a further away corner, the place gets noisy
best tapas – The service is just ok but the food will make you keep coming back. Its a bit pricey for the portions but, once you've taste it you'll forget about the price. Try the grilled squid... or the garlic shrimp! It is bangin!
