What Our Expert Scouts Say

Ride The Ducks
June 12, 2013

Tourists eat this up! It's a novel way to see the city, part karaoke, with a dip in Lake Union thrown in toward the end. But if you're a visitor who wants to get out on the open water, go hop on a ferry to Bainbridge, Vashon, or take the Water Taxi to West Seattle.

Met with scorn by many locals, I finally took my first dip into the lake with the ducks last year (after living here over a decade) and I give them 4 quacks!

Great Customer Service!. I recently purchased several tickets for a large party to Ride the Duck and realized that the date I had chosen was wrong. The glaring words "No returns OR exchanges" on my confirmation email taunted me (WHOOPS!). I called the next morning, which was the morning of the day I had purchased, hoping to plea with someone to let me exchange for the following date. I thought for sure that I would not be able to exchange tickets I had purchased for 4 hours from the time of phone call.

I spoke with a man named TRAVIS and he was so wonderful. He helped me book the later date without question or criticism. Thank you so much DUCK! My party should go off without a hitch!

Awesome!. My friends came in to town last weekend and they wanted to Ride the Ducks. As a Seattle native, I thought, "No way are you going to get me on that thing! It's just for tourists!" But like a good hostess, I went along. WOW! I had a total blast! I learned a ton about Seattle and heard about places that I'd never even thought existed in Seattle! My crazy Captain was super funny and played some cool music and we danced and did the YMCA! It was awesome! Go on the Ducks! Don't forget your Quacker!

This quacky tour will have even the most sourpuss tourists smiling and laughing through the streets and lakes of Seattle.. In Short
Ride in a WWII amphibious vehicle with Captain Seemore Stuff to get the good, the bad and the ugly of Seattle's history and present. This tour packs a lot of Seattle into a brief 90- to 120-minute tour, pointing out all of Seattle's quirks including Fremont's public art and the location of the "Sleepless in Seattle" houseboat, as well as local sights like the Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square and more.

That was fun!. My parents came out to visit from Texas and insisted on riding "that Duck Boat thing." As a local of twelve years, I was not thrilled about doing something so touristy (what if someone I knew saw me?), but I reluctantly went along. I was amazed! I had a complete and total blast, and so did my senior parents and my six-year-old son! Our Captain, "Rick OShea," was hysterically funny and totally got the crowd going. My kids eyes nearly popped out when we drove into the water. It was so much fun, and it made me remember why I moved to Seattle and fell in love with its scenery and charm. The onboard stereo was bumpin, the music was great, and I actually learned some new stuff about my adopted home town. But mostly I just cracked, uh, quacked up. A perfect way to see this beautiful, watery city!

FUN FILLED ENTERTAINMENT. Although this isn't the BEST attraction that Seattle has, it's one of the most 'original' ones I've loved! The driver gives a REALLY informative tour of downtown Seattle as he cruises through it, giving us a GREAT view of Capital Hill, on a World War 2 vehicle. We also got to see 'Sleepless in Seattle' house boats, Pike Place Market, Pioneer Square, and Fremont. The coast guards were the best! They're so funny, and have SUCH a great sense of humor. I had the best time!
