Best Restaurant in Redmond – Wins by a landslide in my book. Okay, Redmond is not known for it's dining, but if you must, goto Typhoon. The food is excellent and it is one of the very few places to get upscale Thai food anywhere on the Eastside. I never order Phad Thai at dine-and-go places, because they are always mushy and soaked with fish sauce. Typhoons crab phad thai is my favorite. Fresh, light and spicy! There are many other good things to order on the menu but I mostly go for the crab phad thai and the tea selection. I have been to this restaurant going on a dozen times, and the quality is consistent.
Even though it is in a strip mall next to the multiplex, the atmosphere inside is elegant and pleasant.
I have not visited the Seattle location yet.
Never to return again...... – I thought this was a posh restaraunt, but turned out to be more of a "chain" . Food was about average. I was very upset about the service. Our waitress was as good as she could have been considering the amount of tables she had. She had a tall dark haired man helping her that was no help at all. We had a party of 12 and they refused to break up the check into 6 different checks. I do mean refuse, the man simply said that he was too busy ,and that we shouldn't expect him to do that for us on a busy night like this....It was a Friday night about 7:30pm. We then asked if someone else could help us and we waited for about 35 minutes for our waitress to return. My husbands birthday was not as nice for him as I hoped it would be.
Excellent thai, excellent price – We have dined at the Seattle and Redmond locations and prefer the Redmond location. the food, location, ambience and service just seem better. The food is tasty, prepared well and very reasonably priced. We actually drive 20 minutes to the Redmond location when we could walk to the one in Seattle...definitely worth the trip to Redmond.
Typhoons losing its force – We have been going to Typhoon for years now. In the begining the portions were more than adequate, service was excellent, and quality was never in question.
Seems that as time has gone on Typhoons care for its customers is not as high. An entree (to share?) is now barely enough for one person. When I've asked for extra anything I get charged for it but never see it show up in the meal.
Service is bland, and customer concerns and questions appear to be more of an inconvenience than anything else.
Though I still enjoy the food, preferably to go, Typhoon is no longer the first place I recommened to others for good dining. Best time to dine in is before the rush.
Mmmm..... – So having a Thai mother, I'm hard to please when it comes to Thai food from a restaurant, but I can honestly say this is one of the three only restaurants I would actually go and pay for food at. Faves: Beef Salad, Curry Roma, Beef with Grapes, Tom Yum Noodles, Three Flavored Fish, and believe it or not, the Creme Brulee is FANTASTIC! If you're going in on a weekend, make a reservation, the rest of the week, you should be fine (except lunches...those can be kind of packed sometimes).
Awesome, Wonderful, Delicious and Delightful! This is how I would describe Typhoon's food and dining experience. Make reservations would be my recommendation!
wow! – We love this Redmond restaurant. The 'Drunken Noodles' are fantastic, and the 'Bags of Gold' are quite tempting. Tea lovers will be amazed by the tea menu. Overall its a great little place in Redmond
THINK TWICE BEFORE ORDERING TO-GO – Where do i start.... I have been ordering take outs at typhoon many times and each time i do so it is always a disappointment! just when i give them another chance, BAM!!! My orders are messed up again. They hardly ever get it right. there was a time recently when i had to drive back to typhoon to ask for the right order. if you must have typhoon's food, eat IN! Even the manager can't get the orders right. what else could go wrong at this restaurant??? CUSTOMERS BEWARE!!!
Yumarama! – This was a fabulous dining experience! Excellent service, delicious food, and a very cool atmosphere.
I especially enjoyed the amazing tea menu. Planning to make this restaurant a regular in my weekend dining experiences!
AWESOME! Great Food. Friendly Staff – This is my favorite Restaurant..and I've eaten everywhere - Flemings, The Met, Wild Ginger, Frontier Room, Flying Fish, etc, etc.
The staff are super friendly, food is the best...it has a great layout --you want a romantic evening get seated in the booths with that special someone- if you want some eye-candy...hit the happy hour. A 10 in my book
