Who you kiddin'? – I hate to burst everyone's bubble here, but Mulberry Street's pizza is just okay. I'm surprised at all the rave reviews--I do like the atmosphere and the NY Posts on the counter, but as far as the pizza goes, it's just another of LA's bafflingly poor attempts to recreate a slice that can be found on practically every street corner in NYC and Philadelphia. Is it bad? No. But is it "awesome" or even "so good?" Hardly. Obviously these reviewers haven't taken their tastebuds East for a while. Go, have fun, read Page Six, but if your hopes are too high, prepare to say "eh."
Yumm – I adore Mulberry Street! The pizza is awesome, the staff is great, and you really don't feel like you're in LA when you go there. Their chopped salad is excellent.
Great slice, good people watching spot – If you want a solid slice and some good eye candy this is the place. Opt for an outdoor table and check out this cuties walking bye...
The BEST Pizza in Los Angeles!!! – The pizza at this joint is unparallel to any other pizza place in LA. I have tried pizza from many restaurants in LA - and nothing compares to this pizza! I don't know what it is.... I heard they ship in water from the east coast for the dough. In any case, whatever they're doing - it works, and the pizza TASTES GREAT. Every single time I've eaten it fresh - or had a pie delivered - I am in heaven. I really only order one thing - simply order the cheese pizza - and throw on small amounts of garlic powder, parmesan, crushed red pepper, and a little oregano - and it's really a wonderful treat. I can now finally tell the difference between bad, mediocre pizza in LA, and great pizza in LA - thank god for Mulberry St! Definitely a stand out. Everyone should learn the difference. Once you do - you won't go back to bad pizza!
The Best NY stlye pizza – This is the best New York style pizza on the West Coast that I have found so far, (I'm a former east coast native). Just the right amount of sauce and toppings, and the crust is perfectly thin. If you don't want to deal with the crowd they are happy to deliver!
Ink and pepperoni grease signatures adorn this celebrity-frequented and -operated pizza joint. – In Short
Both Cathy Moriarty's acting ("Raging Bull") and tire-sized pies draw praises from her famous fans. From Christina Ricci to Rodney Dangerfield, their signed head shots decorate the walls and provide stargazing for well-groomed pizza patrons. The New York-style pizza layers sauce, cheese and toppings on a wafer-thin crust. Innovative spinach white pizza delivers ricotta and spinach with garlic hints, while the meatball parmigiana hero is a hearty alternative to the pies.
Great Pizza – I'm a pizza lover, and this place deserves all the kudos for making a pizza to remember. The freshness of the ingredients, the amount of toppings on every slice, and it's a great lunch spot.
Take it from a New Yawker!!! AWESOME! – For years, I've heard how great Mulberry Street is...well, turns out the rumors are TRUE!!! The pizza is one of the most authentic I've found in LA...and I eat a lot of pizza! The pie (I mean, "pizza" for you Angelos!) is so big, the box won't fit in my refrigerator! The slices are darn big! Very nice thin crust! As for the pasta, eh...nothing to speak of. The sauce was rather sweet...but as mentioned in the Citysearch profile, the chocolate cake rocks!!! That is, if you like the kind of chocolate cake served at birthday parties you throw at home...which I LOVE!!! And if you want delivery out of the immediate area, go to the LABite site... Enjoy!
Addictive – Been eating here since I was a kid with my parents. I've seen everymajor celeb here from James Caan to Stallone to Hilton. Pizza is a cooking marvel, theres is few other places in LA where you can get pizza this good. DEF worth a try and you will be back
Best NYC Pizza in California – Cathy has done a great job bringing us a taste of NYC pizza to the left bank. The pizza is consistently great, service is fast and they truly appreciate your business. If you want a thicker crust try their Sicilian slices, but for a taste of real New York go with their regular pizza pie which is giant sized and rarely is there any leftover for breakfast. I agree with the other posting that if I lived next door I would be morbidly obese - I work next door and have to fight myself not to drop in for a slice at lunch everyday.
