A stunning tribute to the Japanese-American experience in the Pacific Northwest. And one heck of a cool rock garden. – In Short
At the northwest end of Waterfront Park on Naito Parkway are thirteen stone markers commemorating the history of Japanese-Americans in the Northwest. Seven are engraved with the names of internment camps; the rest of the stones are engraved with poetry. One hundred ornamental cherry trees make the area a sea of pink in the spring.
