Very beautiful, very upscale feeling. Amazing lighting. The stuffed mushrooms were fantastic, the potroast was delicious.
Kansas-based restaurant started in 1972 entices 30-somethings and families with a flashy menu, inventive drinks and chic, but accessible, decor. – In Short
Considered a founding father of American casual dining, Houlihan's transformed its once-kitschy decor and meat-and-potatoes menu into a contemporary restaurant serving eclectic cuisine. Geared toward a slightly more upscale crowd, warmer colors and modern art adorn the walls, while Indie rock tunes and a patio leading to a walk-around bar remind you that you're not in Kansas anymore. The globetrotting menu juxtaposes classic burgers and wings with innovative selections like tuna wontons and herb-cheese stuffed mushrooms.
Beyond Dissapointing – We went to Houlihan's today and my experience there would make me not want to send my worst enemy there, as I would have to admit I ate there. The service was fine and the atmosphere acceptable. The food, however, was inedible. I had the mushroom enchiladas and the ingredients were unidentifiable. It was a tasteless mash, unappealing in appearance and flavor. My fiance ordered the pot-roast and was similarly dissatisfied. The meat was disgusting, the potatoes tasted like instant and the vegetables didn't even taste like vegetables.
Everything besides the food was fine, but why go to a restaurant if not to eat?
