great for locals or those from out of town trying to get to know locals – I had just moved out to Hollywood and fell upon this bar on a Monday afternoon...it was the best fall I could have taken...I met a lot of locals as well as TV personalities over the next few years.(but do not tell anyone b/c they come there to be themselves and not be bothered - do not ruin it for everyone else)

Everoyne was great and the bartenders are very nice; as I recall vaguely most nights. I can not tell all the stories but this bar has incrediable food as well as women and libations. weekends are great and the "Just John" is a must try for anyone out of town...ask the female bar tenders as they know the drinks the best.

Grrrrreat! – I love this place. Excellent food, great music , & hip/casual atmosphere. Great for lunch or dinner & excellent for late nite drinks.

Like Mardi Gras Meets Oktoberfest...everynight! – This place is a New York-style eatery/bar. Loud, noisy and full of energy. It is not for the weak-kneed or the uninitiated. When I met my agent here for dinner, it was crowded with diners.....this was at 9PM on a Wednesday night! The host will write your name on a list, and no matter who you are, including Jessica Simpson and her entourage, you must wait until a table is available. The wait is between five and fifteen minutes, and you can get a drink at the bar. This makes the wait seem like two minutes. Food ranges from a mile high (actually it's about a foot tall) stack of Onion rings, complete with three dipping sauces to a humongous Chicken Caesar salad. The menu includes Burgers, Sandwiches, Roasted Chicken, etc. There is something for everyone.

At 11pm this place turns into one of the hottest bar spots in Hollywood. Celebs bum cigarettes from the regulars as they all swig pints of beer or sip large martinis. It does have a provincial feel to it, (it has a large crowd of locals who walk down from the Beachwood Canyon neighborhood) but everyone is friendly and unassuming. No dancing in the Go Go cage the night I was there. The girls are hot and the guys are affable conversationalists.

This is not a place to go and have an intimate drink with a friend, you will meet half the people by the end of the night. I don't think the cute Asian girl, who is a regular there, is hooking up with anyone. People are just friendly and everyone hugs each other. Though if you are intimidated by people who are confident and attractive, than you might want to go somewhere else. This place is just too much fun for some people.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE – How this place is in business is a mystery to me. My girlfriend and I stopped by to have a late nite dinner and some drinks. What we got was terrible service, guys fist fighting, and a girl that was obviously so intoxicated she started thowing up right in front of our table. No one seemed to care -- no management around, nothing. We left and will never ever go back, nor will we ever recommend this scary place.

good neighborhood hangout – this place is a great neighborhood hangout, as for all the people who have bad things to say yea sometimes the service isnt up to par but if your that high maintenance go to a $50 a plate restaurant your paying on average 20 -30 per person to eat and drink not a bad deal.. i love this place, most nights there are plenty of people trying to hook up.. it is a bar

What's with all the negative here?! This place has great chicken! – Sometimes drunk people do stupid things...like break sinks off the wall because they think it's "funny". Can't fix it at midnight, can ya? Please don't blame management on some drunk schlub. Servers are often slammed...know why?....because this place is GREAT! Don't wanna wait an hour? Simple. Don't. Most nights, you just don't have to. If you come on a holiday, you're going to wait. This place has been open 11 years. In this city where restaurants open and close in the blink of an eye...I'd say Birds is doing pretty well.

I'm addicted to the malaysian sauce.

As for a guaranteed booty call...well someone's obviously got a chip on their shoulder.

Always a booty call – If you're in desperate need of booty call, Birds is the place to go. Generally you want to go Wednesday through Saturday, and definitely get there by the start of happy hour. Then you want to look for a dark Asian girl with a saddlebag derriere and a flat chest named Nan. She is a regular (but not like the local neighborhood regulars...she drives an hour each night to get to Birds) who likes to introduce new customers to the bar, as well as her licentious body and dances on the bar pretty much every night in clothes most likely bought at the lewd clothing boutiques on Hollywood Blvd. Typically, this is how it goes. You can just meet her, get her completely drunk, bring her home, and have what you would consider mediocre fornication, but hey! It's an easy lay, and it's for free! It definitely balances out the amount of money you might spend on booze, and the food (which is relatively decent).

Definitely give it a try........it's as easy as 1, 2, 3!

Poor Customer Service – My friends and I went to Birds around Halloween time this year (2006). My buddies and I waited a long time before our orders were taken and when they were we were spoken to rudely and criticized for looking young. If you want to park your car, your only option is valet. If you don't want a stranger driving your car to an unknown location do not go there. There are plenty of great bars and nightclubs in Los Angeles; this is not one of them.

Too packed, Too Busy, Too pricey – Encouraged by neighbors to check it out at least once, we chose to stop by this place on a Friday evening. Big mistake. Had to wait one hour and ended up receiving under par service, if not bad. I feel sorry for the guests and the servers. My drink cost more than my whole meal. Chicken wrap was decent. The only good about this place is scenery.

Horrible Service, Wrong Scenery ... Avoid if possible – The only thing I like about Birds is the quaint location. Aside from that, too packed. Lack of service. If you wanna do the old "LA thing" of trying to look good, this might be the place for you. Horrible bathrooms. Who manages this place?! Too short of a happy hour. No Late Night eats(Note to oneself: Don't take your eyes off the bottle-pour or your drink... PD trap-happened to many) Neighborhood dive-bar that's taking a dive.
