Awesome food and service!!!. Just entering the restaurant, you almost feel like you are walking into your Mexican Auntie's house for some homemade yummy food. Everything that we have had has been prepared fresh, and to our liking!! Joe, the owner, makes sure to make you feel at home, and caters to the customer...A wonderful little place, which is clean, and the prices are excellent!

VERY DISAPPOINTING!!!. My foodie brother and I have been looking forward to trying Viva Mexico based on the reviews...alas...yuk.

In the land of bland/americanized Mexican food -- this was not even mediocre. We started with stale chips, tomato paste-ey salsa and pathetic guacamole(under-ripe avocados) ...and moved onto a soggy, tasteless chimichanga and a very unremarkable enchilada. The rice was really tasty, however.

I'm hoping it was merely a bad day, but at $15 each for this lunch -- I won't be going back.

Tiny Mexican storefront near the university serves up south of the border comfort food.. In Short
Viva Mexico's owner, her daughter and her niece all pitch in to make this charming restaurant a kid-friendly, welcoming spot. The clean, whitewashed space is accented with colorful woven wall hangings and populated with devoted neighborhood folks. Authentic without being intimidating, the menu carries the basics and more adventurous items. Chorizo quesadillas are crammed with cheese and spicy sausage, and pork tacos are loaded with cilantro and onions.

Best mexican in Minnesota. The food and service are wonderful. I haven't eaten mexican food this good since I was in Texas.

It's great!. This is the ONLY mexican restaurant I go to anymore. I have never been treated so well at any kind of restaurant. The food is WONDERFUL, and it is so worth the drive. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Best Mexican Food!!. This was really the best Mexican food that I have ever tried and I have gone to all of the other Mexican places in the Twin Cities. The food tasted amazing.
