Awkward and Rude Staff! St Pete Native – I started my business trip in Florida at this hotel. At first, the problem was that the front desk "Didn't have anything to do with the parking"...which is strange considering they have their own parking lot. Then, I was told by the man taking care of the parking lot that I could only park for 90 minutes! After telling him I was a guest, he was okay. We go to the pool to get some drinks and cool off...After 30 minutes waiting for the server to take our orders, we get some beers. After getting our beers, we walked to the side of the pool to put our feet in...2 minutes later...THE POOL POLICE ARRIVE!!! The pool attendant, named Damien, asked us very rudely if we were guests. At this point, I got up with my business partner and left FOR GOOD! I told the General Manager about the experience, but I don't think they will be changing their rude and awkward ways soon enough. I'm a St Petersburg Native...Maybe THE POSTCARD INN could learn to treat their neighbors right.
YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!! – This is by far the WORST hotel I have EVER stayed at! It was soooo nasty! When we arrived, it appeared as though the sheets were dirty. The bathroom was very nasty and had pubic hair all over the floor. The water in the shower would switch from hot to cold and would run out of hot water all together after the first person took a shower. It was infested with roaches. We had to have maintenance spray several times and they were still every where. My children were outside of our room feeding sea gulls when some one in the room above us came out and threw a phone book at them so hard it actually hit a sea gull and killed it. We had to call the police and file a report, for what good that did. The hoel was notified and didn't even attempt to make them leave. We had to insist to be moved to another room for safety reasons and had to pack up and move to the other side of the hotel only to have a worse infestation of roaches. They were even in the bed! Crawling on the floors, walls, counters, it was disgusting! The thermostats in both rooms didn't work so we froze in one room and were hot in the other. The pool was okay but there was a lot of drinking and drunks hanging around. People from off the streets would wonder into the pool who weren't even staying there. One woman who wasn't staying there brought her kids to swim and the kids took my kids pool toys and the woman grabbed the toys, refused to give them back, and put them in her car and left. We ended up leaving 2 days early to come home. Horrible experience. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.
Avoid at all cost – I am sorry to say that The Travel Lodge St Pete Beach is the worst accomodation I have EVER stayed in (Worldwide), and checked out after only 2 days. My major complaint was the noise between rooms. You could hear the adjacent people talking via the vents in the bathroom and also hear the toilets flush. The showers have NO thermostatic control and when the adjacent room had a shower, at the same time, water temperature fluctuated to the point where my head was scolded. The staff fobbed me off saying that mine was the first complaint they had had about water temperature and yet, everyone I talked to had the same problem. My accident report was NOT resolved and I will NEVER use travel lodge EVER again. In my opinion A small child could have been severely hurt and an older person, less agile, may have fallen from the shock of the change in temperature.
