A business-person's haven from the conventions. – The Scene
The decor of Club 114 (so-named after the highway exit) is comfortably faux-Utah. Nuclear-sized back-lit arrowheads; Kokopelli and buffalo petroglyphs; that Aztec-pattern upholstering that looks like a migraine headache on most of the furniture. Fortunately, the overall impression is minimal enough to avoid overwhelming the senses and simply provides a regional backdrop to some tasty beverages from the well-stocked bar.
The most common crowd here is of the business variety--the skiiers and tourists usually stay closer to the canyons.
Know the Law
Club 114 is a private club, but if you're a guest of the hotel you're automatically a member. Otherwise, a temporary membership costs $5; a full year costs $20.
The club uses the same menu as the restaurant adjacent to it, so look for soups and salads, pastas and pizzas, burgers and sandwiches.
Before we moved here, we stayed at the Hilton. When we arrived, I was highly disappointed. I had anticipated a nice hotel, but it felt and looked like I was at a Motel 6. The room was cramped with few ammenities. The housekeepers were awful. They didn't come to clean our room until 4pm and didn't even restock washclothes or towels. I had to go ask for more.
