Instead of calling it Joseph-Beth Booksellers, they should have called it Joseph-Beth Book City.
– The Scene
Never has a bookstore seemed more inviting. Two stories of soft, natural lighting, comfy seats and crackling fireplace make it feel like a never-ending Sunday afternoon in Joseph-Beth, a library atmosphere minus the always-shushing librarians. In fact, you're encouraged to talk, ask questions and explore.
Independent doesn't mean small at this Ohio-owned book loft. You'll have at least 120,000 books, 22,000 magazines and a complete audio section from which to choose. That includes an enormous, proudly displayed section of titles by local and regional authors; Richard Gildenmeister, the store's aptly titled "Master Bookseller" (and local literary legend), boasts it's the largest in the state. When you're done searching for titles, read the menu at Bronte, the bookstore's full-service bistro, cafe and bar. Joseph-Beth also features author signings, musical performances and poetry readings.
