This is the worst Ruth's Chris in the system. Old/tired facility and "fast food" quality service.
Bought $500 worth of gift certificates, because they advertsied an additional 10% bonus, but this franchisee, "Big Steaks" doesn't honor the deal.
They still charge Ruth's prices. Go to Flemings or The Prime Rib, much better and the service is excellent.
Excellent meal ruined by annoying upsell of wine – Real quick - went to RC (21208) for meal. Bill was $500. We decide to order a final bottle of vino. Waiter comes back, says we are sorry, we are out of that - but we can recommend this. This is 100% of that. I balked. Said, tell you what, give me a $70 bottle for $60 (not $120 like he was pushing) and we're good. Waiter comes back. sorry we can't do. $10 !!! on a 100% markup. I cancel round and grab check to go. Then, on the way out, the Maitre'd comes offer and apologies - and offers a round of wine!! What!!!!. 3rd time this happened in steakhouse. Isn't the $500 enough???
unwelcomed – the general manager is very cold and aloof.they are stuffy and make you feel un--welcome.the prices are expensive, the service is fine, the food is pretty ok, but the attitudes by the staff make the place to avoid. everyone has an attitude, you get a bad feeling every time you step in the door.
Good- but not up to its' Pricetag! – OK- this was a THREE HUNDRED DOLLAR MEAL! For three people. With salad and steak for each; shared 2 sides; each had dessert; shared one bottle of the lowest-priced wine. THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS.
For that price, I expect perfection.
I got good.
That's not perfection.
Chopped Salad was bland- Caesar and Spinach were excellent. Bread was good, but nothing extraordinary.
Steaks were tasty, BUT they had too much gristle for what should be prime meat.
Sides were fine, but not thrilling. And one would think a restaurant with these pretensions would have a better dip for pomme frites than Heinz ketchup. Garlic aioli or similar, please!
I found the paper "doggy bag" sacks sat directly on tables cheesy beyond belief at a place supposedly this nice.
And service, while plentiful, made everything rushed. Whole meal little over an hour. And people next to us turned over twice.
And when I drop bucks like this- I expect a bathroom attendant. I expect side plates with which to share the sides. I expect the waiter to not need my help in opening bottle of wine. I expect COMFORTABLE seating. I expect a leisured pace of service.
I expect the steak to be free of gristle, all the salads to have "zing", the sauces to be interesting and original.
This is a good 21/2- 3-star restaurant, posing as a 4-star to jack up the prices.
Next time we want fancy we'll stick to Bluestone or Christopher Daniel- closer to home, nicer atmosphere, food is just as good, at 1/2 the price.
Sophisticated American chain serves up corn-fed USDA prime cuts and New Orleans-style appetizers and sides. – In Short
This offshoot of a popular New Orleans hangout for politicians features decor of dark woods and comfortable booths, with a separate bar scene. Choice cuts of custom-aged beef arrive in sizzling butter on 500-degree plates. The menu also offers chicken, pork and seafood entrees along with Creole appetizers like shrimp remoulade. Family-style sides include gargantuan onion rings, creamed spinach and various styles of potatoes. Traditional homemade desserts like cheesecake and bread pudding conclude the meal.
Great service. If you want good steaks, this is the place. – My husband and I went to Ruth's Chris Steakhouse last night for a dinner for 2. We had a very nice time. The waitstaff was excellent and made us feel welcomed. The salad was delicious. We both ordered the NY Strip Steak. My husband ordered it medium rare and mine was medium. They were cooked to perfection. The steaks were so huge we ended up asking if we could take it home. Instead of making a fuss, they did it so effortlessly which we appreciated.
I think the wait staff was very pleasant and asked us how our meal was. I thought that was a nice touch to end the evening. By the way, the cheesecake dessert was a bit soggy for my tastes, but then again I don't have a sweet tooth.
I would go back with friends.
Worth Every Cent – So what if dinner for two costs $200.00, where else can you go and get treated like a star? I do however reccommend not going on Mothers Day, the service lacks on that particular day and as I said for $200.00 for 2, you should have your own best experience in the world.
Okay – I was surprised at my first trip to Ruth's. The service was outstanding. We had the crab meat stuffed mushrooms which were great. We ordered filet mingnon's each..they were average definitely not worth the 32 dollars a piece. I enjoyed the yam casserole for my side dish, it was covered in crushed pecans and tasted like a dessert. But, for 160 including tip for two people it's a little much.
Birthday disaster – This was supposed to be a special birthday celebration for my son and his girlfriend who came all the way from New York. Instead it was a disaster!! Two people ordered soup as a starter and two ordered salad. Salads arrived 20 minutes before the soup! Busboy kept reaching in front of one of us to fill all waters, even though there was ample space to walk around the table. Waiter never returned to pour the second round of wine or coffee (once he took our order, we hadly saw him all). Dessert arrived without even a birthday candle. I didn't expect that a $200 + dinner required us to bring our own. When I questioned this, the hostess admitted that they did have the notation of a birthday but no one made any attempt to even apologize. What a disappointment this was!!!
OVERPROCED & OVERRATED – It's the "place to be seen" where you can show off that you are spending mucho bucks.
Definitely overpriced and overrated. On a recent visit, the prime rib was mediocre. The lamb chops were good. The only truly superior item was the martini
