Boasting a capacity of more than 71,000, the stadium is appropriately raucous and loud for football games against Pac-10 rivals like UCLA, USC and especially the much-hated Stanford Cardinal. Thanks to the configuration of the venue, which is modeled after the Colosseum in Rome, even cheap seats feel close to the action. Located in Strawberry Canyon, the stadium offers superb views of San Francisco Bay, pine-topped Berkeley hills and the UC Berkeley Campanile tower.

A perfect college-football stadium. Thankfully, the hideous artificial turf is gone -- hopefully forever. The atmosphere is exactly how i should be for college football -- right on campus, huge, packed with benches. The "Pride of California" marching band is the best in the land -- please, don't go changing the pre-game performance.
