A New Genre of Chic – I was very impressed with the overall experience. Not only was the food excellent ( I later confirmed that it was all organic), the staff was on point. I didn't have to ask for anything, they were very attentive. The presentation of the food was out of this world. I have eaten alot of Indian food in my time, but this restaurant sets a new standard for upscale.
Disappointing Indian at High Prices – I found the food to be terrible and the service was awkward. They are trying to hop on the Dawat bandwagon but the food just isn't there - the sauces were so-so and the ingredients were not fresh. I love Indian food, but this was the pits.
Wonderful – I had dinner here with friends and I am very impressed. The food and service were absolutely terrific. The lamb vindaloo was hot and spicy. I was very pleased.
Amazing! – If one were to look for heaven on earth, it would take place at Ada. I wanted to take out a special friend, whose birthday it was as well. I felt special personal attention. What appeared to be the head waiter, and two gentlemen who were part of the ownership made sure I was comfortable. I enjoyed lovely cnversations with them. Fabulous! It is by far the best indian cuisine i have ever tasted. The men told me this is "auithentic indian cuisine served in an avante garde style." They could not have hit the dot more precisely. Then when desert came, my friend's name in chocolate was on her plate saying happy birthday, as well as throwing us drinks on the house. If you are lucky enought to get into Ada, count yourself as one of the few and chosen to recieve the best the wrold has to offer!
Customer Service at its worst! – My girlfriend and I visited the restaurant a couple nights ago. We had a gift certificate for the restaurant for $25 that we had purchased. The manager/waitstaff was adamant about not taking it because the bill didnt reach $100 while no such restrictions were mentioned on the GC. Then they proceeded to be rude and tried to use cheap tactics to get us to pay the bill. No one knows better than these guys how to ruin a good dinner and never invite customers back. I had heard bad things from others but thought of it as solo incidents and I now see that these idiots dont know the C of customer service. There's a hundred other indian restaurants on the same street so I would definitely suggest going there over this place...
ho-hum – the appetizers are better than the entrees which are misleading in their titles. the lamb vindaloo is not a vindaloo curry. for indian food connoseurs, you can do better. for those looking for a quiet, fusion spin indian style - yes. its definitely more sophisticated than dawat.
Bravo! – The service was excellent and the food was a great spin on a cuisine that I love.
10 – I eat out a ton and I'm a food snob so I'm very hard to please but this place was amazing. The best indian food in Manhattan! The menu was interesting and the presentation of food was beautiful. The food tasted as incredible as it looked.
