Some of the worse Thai I have had. – I have eaten Thai and Japanese cuisine all over the world and this is definitely not acceptable. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone who knows quality. Additionally the server was not friendly nor attentive.

Moon Thai is two successful restaurants in one! – First off, I have NEVER seen a restaurant that is both Japanese and Thai... but Moon Thai pulls it off! They actually have two separate menus and a sushi bar, and serve up everything that those two cuisines would normally have. I had the pad thai dish with shrimp and chicken, thai dumplings, miso soup, and a crunchy shrimp roll. Everything was full of flavor and served with a thoughtful appearance -- not just sloshed out on a plate. Go to Moon Thai if you want reasonably priced, DELICIOUS, Thai and/or Japanese food. The inside of the restaurant is well-decorated and there are two large rooms of seating. It's easy to find on US-1 near UMiami, too.

Fresh sushi, decent thai, ok prices with suboptimal wait staff – So far the sushi has been fresh and if you aim for the sushi meals you can get a fair amount for the buck. Thai also taste pretty good, but slightly pricier... after living in NYC and Chi town for some time I'm just used to getting good thai for a fraction of the price (oh well). The wait staff has really been the most inconsistant aspect of this restaurant... sometimes their good, sometimes their just plain pathetic.

Good-looking room, good-tasting food make this just the place to Thai one on. – In Short
Though its location on cheesy, traffic-choked Highway 1 isn't terribly promising, once inside Moon makes a stylish, classy impression. The restaurant may offer both Japanese and Thai cuisines but the spare, sparsely appointed dining room is more Japanese than Thai. There's plenty of gleaming blond wood, lots of comfy banquettes and a sushi bar in the center of the room. Moon's Thai cuisine is a cut above most of its local competitors. Among te better dishes are savory red curry chicken, whole fried snapper with mild chile sauce and larp, a warm, spicy salad (available with beef, pork or chicken). "Spring break" duck (roasted, then fried) with lots of crunchy vegetables is simple but tasty; beef satei is good but skip the icky-sweet peanut sauce. Finish with sticky rice and fresh mango with a rich condensed milk sauce.

Excellent Sushi, Very Good Thai Food – I'm not sure where some of the reviewers that didn't like the sushi were eating... I have been to Moon Thai at least every other week for the last year and the sushi has been the best I've had in Miami. The sushi bar consistently prepares excellent sushi rolls and sushi pieces in large portions. The prices are not cheap, but considering the size of the portions the prices are appropriate. The Thai food is very good as well. Parking can be difficult at times since the restaurant shares a parking lot with a Starbucks, but the Starbucks customers tend not to stay very long.

my favorite thai – Moon has a large variety of dishes and two whole menus, 1 for Japanese and 1 for Thai.

Ive eaten at many Thai restaurants in the kendall/south miami/central areas and to me they make the best Pad Thai around, & you can customize it with special requests (tofu, beef, chicken, shrimp...or all). The large dinner portion is too pricey for me, but I never eat it all so I order the "Appetizer" portion which is almost half the price.

They have affordable lunch specials for both sushi and thai- and are usually quick with their service if you're in a rush.

They also have a large variety of desserts and they are ALL excellent!

Sometimes on the weekends, it gets very loud inside the restaurant, but they have outdoor tables which are nice.

Wost Pad Thai Ever – I went to Moon for sushi, and found it to be good, nothing special. I decided to try the pad thai the next time I went, and I was sorely disappointed. Not only was it $14, it was supposed to have chicken and shrimp, but came with no shrimp, it didn't have any peanuts (how can you have pad thai without peanuts?), and though I ordered it spicy, it had no kick to it! I eat thai food at least once a week when I am home in Detroit, at several excellent Thai restaurants. I know good thai, and this is not it.

Go for the Food Only! – I love the food and here and have eaten at Moon more that 5 times in a span of 10 days. UNFORTUNATELY, it is not the service that keep me coming back. The hostess (very young) is consitently rude and makes no effort unless you are good looking asian male. The waitressess could be a little bit faster because although I order tea or water I would like refills so I don't choke on the excellent rice. I had a chance to look at the kitchen and thank god the floors are clean. PEOPLE, ALWAYS LOOK AT THE FLOORS AND RESTROOMS. It is a "tell" in any restaurant. (Mgr for 6yrs) I go to McDonalds next door for nice service but return to Moon for the food only.

Yummy! – This place is awesome! My husband and I come here all the time and we don't get tired of it. The ambiance is great and the place is always very clean. I completely recommend this place. You won't regret it!

Best Sushi in South Florida – I love this place, it is by far the best sushi in South Florida, if I had it my way I would be there every night for dinner! The thai is also great, but I would not recommend the pad thai noodles.
