I've seen better... – I have been to the Sanctuary several years ago and recently went back for some spa services. Overall, the salon is not too bad.. just outdated and in need of some renovations. Locker room and massage waiting area are not great, front desk and spa staff wonderful! Prices are high considering the facility, services make up for it though
Outdated & overrated! – I went to this spa because it was rated so highly with awards etc. I walked in to one girl at the front desk swarmed by a line of customers. (apparently they do not have enough staff on hand) After waiting for around 10 min, I was checked in by a dark haired, unprofessional looking manager. She informed me I was late (obviously-I'd been waiting in like!) & rushed back to the spa. Not only was there a shortage on locker keys (I had to change while the manager waited with a master key), their waiting room is so small I had to sit in between 2 males-rather uncomfortable. The massge was amazing, the therapist was very professional & knew exactly what to do for my back. After the massage, I waited in my robe for the manager to come unlock my locker, she didn't seem too thrilled to help as she was texting behind the desk when I approached her. I would have enjoyed a shower but both were occupied so instead I changed and went to the front to take care of my bill. After waiting for several minutes for the ONE receptionist, I was on my way out of there never to go back again! All in all, the place is outdated, understaffed and the management snotty (with no reason to be!) Go to spalon, juut or some other place that doesn't skimp on their staffing and amenities to their customers who are paying for an enjoyable experience!
I got burned – I was burned by the wax after going in for a eye brow wax, the person I dont remember her name didnt tell me and both eyes were done. I had two large red burns where she had waxed that stayed for 3-4 days. I was not scarred only very scared and very insulted. When I complained I was told not to come back.to their salon.
Relaxing experience, super fun stylist! – Last monday I hadn my hair done by Leanna at Sanctuary. It was a standard cut and all over dye. I had zero waiting time. Staff was friendly and helpful. Leanna was the first stylist I have ever enjoyed talking to. Not only that, but she listened to my concerns about my hair "going red" when dyed. My hair is now a beautiful dark chocolate brown! What I came away with was a relaxing experience by a fun stylist who did a great job with the cut and dye. I will definately be going to her again!
Horrible customer service – I made a haircut appointment 4 weeks in advance at 5pm. I got a call on the DAY OF the appointment saying that my stylist was running about 20 minutes behind. No big deal. I got another call about 10 minutes later saying that some other stylist went into labor so my stylist was suddenly unavailable. I asked if I could get in with someone else and they scheduled me with a different stylist at 530pm. No big deal again. I show up at 530, check in and sit down. About a half an hour goes by and I asked what the hold up was and the front desk girl (the same one who checked me in) said she would find out. She came back up about 5 minutes later and said 'Oh, um, I guess nobody communicated to the stylist that you were here.' WHAT? and then she says 'Would you like to reschedule?' Um NO She was the one who not only called me every single time, but she was also the one who checked me in!!! What a waste of time. I will never step foot in this salon again and will strongly advise everyone I know to go elsewhere.
Worst spa experience I've had – I scheduled an appointment, which apparently no one entered into the system. So I had to wait. The lady I got was in a rush from the start, the eyebrow tint was terrible. I am fair skinned with blonde hair and it looked like i colored them on with black sharpie marker. I got my make-up done as well, which she also rushed through, I looked like I had escaped from the circus when i left...about half an hour later. Worst service I had ever had.
Hair Service-HORRIBLE! Spa Service-OUTSTANDING – I'm giving this a below average because of the awful hair experiences I have had. I told the stylist I wanted blond, came home red with black roots. Made an appt to redo it and she said she was going to charge me again. I refused, and they let me redo it for free, she STILL could not cover up my roots-WTF? Seriously awful. I got a gift certificate for a massage and did a 1/2 spa day. The girl who did it was OUTSTANDING! First Brazilian wax and made me feel comfortable and at ease. Will go back for that, but wouldn't let one person there touch my hair again! Need an Aveda salon? Go to New Reflections, they are not snotty, or think they are above everyone else like they do here.
Samantha the color goddess! – After so many horrifyinig experiences at twin city area salons, i've finally found my perfect match. Samantha is incedibly talented and of course so fun to hang out with for solid hour or two in the salon. The Salon is beautiful with a garden in the center, and I have never had a bad experience at the front desk.
WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY! HORRIBLE SERVICE! – Your appointment will surely be cancelled or moved or nonexistant when you arrive - and they will blame you and tell you it must have been how you communicated the request. Then the management will SAY they will do something for you like a free pedicure, and then you will get nothing but 10% off. The massage therapist will talk through your service, and the shower won't drain in the dressing room, and you will pay through the nose for this kind of service. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME - go to Spalon Montage or ANYWHERE ELSE. This has happened to me MORE THAN ONCE AT THIS SPA!
Posh, industrious Eden Prairie spa and salon specializing in anti-aging treatments. – In Short
Aveda-trained technicians calibrate their efforts toward one all-important goal: making their middle-aged clientele look younger. Anti-aging treatments, microdermabrasion and the Sonic Youth facial, (a combination of ultrasound technology and vitamin C) work their magic against time. Women aren't the only ones who venture into this large gray building: Special men's services include a gray-blending treatment and a hair-painting service--a color treatment favored by those going for the boy-band look.
