Great Place to find that DEAL or UNIQUE item – I recently starting setting up @ the Scott show. It is a new experience for me but has been a VERY good one!

As for some of the other reviews:

- Vendors: Everyone I have met has been a character! I think you have to be in this business. Meshed within the different personalities, I have found that everyone is kind, courteous & knowledgeable. Remember, they are there doing what they love & hoping to sell items to people who will enjoy them. That's the goal: make money so they can keep doing what they love. That can't be done with a bad reputation. Most dealers love to talk: ask questions!

- Prices: A lot of the dealers' prices are not set in stone. They expect to wheel & deal. At least 10% off the sticker is common. Some motivated dealers will even take off up to 20%. Purchasing multiple items from the same dealer is a sure-fire way to earn a discount! Just do the math & name your price! Can't hurt...

- Sundays: While it's true that some dealers cut prices on the last day of the show to move inventory before packing up, it's also move-out day. Some vendors pack up early & head out. Some have a long way to travel in order to get home & Sundays are historically the slowest selling day of the show. For the best selection, attend on Fri or Sat when the booths are fully stocked & staffed with hopeful dealers.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY – We changed our route from GA to NC just to go to this event. We paid out ten dollars to get it and started through the booths. WHAT A WASTE. About a third of booths were not open. Most of the the booths and next to nothing in them! And of the JUNK they had, it was over priced. It was a JOKE. It was JUNK! We collect antiques and enjoy the hunt as much as the find, but this was neither. It is a SHAM. DO NOT GO!

Buyer beware at Scott's Antique Market – Caveat Emptor at the Scott Antique Market in Atlanta. I spent an entire, thorough day there and spotted numerous fakes of various types of antiques and collectibles. Altered pieces, etc. Sellers misrepresenting what they're selling, giving wrong ages and origins of items, etc. I even got taken myself on a couple lower priced items and I thought I was savvy. And I wonder, if so much suspect stuff and sellers are there, why don't they self-police this? People are openly selling reproductions with out informing the buyers. So be very, very careful buying here. I suspected even more fakery and chicanery that I didn't have the expertise to confirm. Also, I know the value of different stuff, and I couldn't get people to drop a dime on their over-priced items. They won't barter or budge. I walked away from numerous conversations in disgust because they just wouldn't give a single inch. So I spent little money. They were really out to take people. Some great wooden furniture, though. Unusual eastern items, but again, be careful. If you're a re-seller of lower and middle-range jewelry, this place could be a gold mine for you (if you can get any of the tightwads to spin you a deal). I've never seen more costume jewelry and I've been to the America's Mart in Atlanta. I'd say perhaps a quarter of the dealers were selling jewelry. I went to one in late May or early June I believe, and I didn't see a great attendance or much buying. Maybe if they'd loosen up their pricing, they'd do better.

Very nice facility - Very high prices – Quite an interesting place to look around and spend an afternoon. Most merchants are very nice. Obvious good quality of merchandise such as furniture. Prices indoor on both food and merchandise seemed to be high for what I would expect at a once a month antique market. The outdoor merchants were in my experience more reasonable.

Huge Selection--Decent Prices – First off, let me say that this market is HUGE. You could spend all day looking around these two exhibition halls. The sheer size of the market ensures that you will probably find just about any antique piece you're looking for here. While I have noticed that many of the booths are overpriced, if you are an educated buyer and willing to negotiate a bit, there are certainly bargains to be had. We have had particularly good luck buying large pieces of furniture here. If price is a primary concern, try going on Sunday, as the vendors will slash prices toward the end of the weekend in order to move merchandise.

Serious antique buyers hit this show once a month for quality merchandise and reputable dealers. – The Deal
On the second weekend of every month, antique hounds usually drive the truck to Scott, which caters to those looking for a handsome piece of furniture or china in excellent condition. Scott shoppers tend to have money to burn--watch out for sticker shock. At least the higher prices parallel the facilities; both buildings (one on either side of I-285) are air-conditioned and heated.

The Goods
Some of the best dealers around set up shop here, selling everything from large wood pieces such as armoires, dressers and dining tables to elaborate jewelry, fabrics, sterling silver and Oriental rugs. Very few items are new, but the antiques run the gamut on age. Check out the few outside vendors for garden furniture, old iron fences and statuettes.

Unique Finds! Fun Merchants! Can Haggle Prices! – I can't wait for this once a month event. You never know what you will find, and each booth is totally different, from merchandise, presentation, and the wonderful individuals who show their wares. Being a jewelry freak, so help me, I always find something I have to bring home. And most of the fun is the haggle of the price with the merchants. Such great people. It's like seeing old friends once a month. An Atlanta tradition.
