They make it right – I recently had a bad experience with their customer service and was disappointed enough to write a negative review. Their customer service rep later contacted me and I have to admit, I was impressed with their follow up. He apologized and thanked me for my patronage, when I expected to be written off. I was ready to start looking elsewhere for my lobsters but this place is obviously the one for me.

Take a number, grab a seat or just ogle the fresh catches. – Remember the days when going to this purveyor of fresh catches of the day meant cramming into a fishy box of a store where swarms of other Santa Monica locals and far-flung seafoodies elbowed each other to grab a number in hopes of getting the best piece of Duart Loch wild-caught salmon or meaty patties of blue crab? Yeah, well it's still sorta like that, only now there are a lot more people in a much larger space. Vaulted ceilings and huge windows make for a lofty scene, while new additions like the cafe (which dishes out yummy Cali-inspired fare) and oyster bar are perfect for folks who'd rather have a profesh do all the work. The retail portion has doubled in size, with a 60-foot refrigerator case offering all the pristine iced slabs of fish anyone could ask for. There's also plenty of bottles of wine on the wall and loads of gourmet take-home goodies like fresh veggies and herbs, buttered garlic bread, chilled sake, pastas, pricey chocolates and, of course, lemons.

FRESH options, good prices – I love this place - you can trust that everything they sell is fresh. They have a pretty big variety of offerings, from the typical (salmon) to more unusual (shark). Their prices range from the high to the very low. Buying the entire fish is much cheaper - and they'll clean it out and de-bone it for you for free, so that's a great way to get a bargain. Their littleneck clams are wonderful grilled. Oysters are just 79 cents each and they usually have three different types. There's a small grocery here too where you can get everything you need for a gourmet meal, including fresh flowers!

Quality reigns supreme – You get what you pay for at premiere seafood market. If you're cooking and at all concerned with quality, this is the absolute place to pick up best fish in town. Closed on Sundays so plan ahead. There's very little ready made food (some packaged sushi and ready to bake stuffed shellfish) so don't plan on picking up something to eat on the go--really more of a place to explore your culinary talents. The staff is helpful with cooking suggestions.
