Wonderful and well kept up Tucson Family Treasure with a great zoo as well. – This is a park for all. It well maintained by the City. There are many many activities. It is certainly a family jewel. Our family encourages everyone to visit this park. Thank you City of Tucson.
A green and shady oasis in the middle of a desert city, this is the Central Park of Tucson. – Overview
Giant eucalyptus, Alleppo pines, palm trees and mulberry trees spread their welcome shade over acres of green grass. Near the middle of the park, a waterfall splashes down a heavily planted hillside to a lake that attracts waterfowl and kids with toy boats. Man-made hills rise to encompass seating for the outdoor DeMeester Performance Center, where free programs include orchestras, blues bands and Shakespeare.
The small zoo coddles a variety of animals in natural habitats. Moms inhale the heavenly scents of nearly 1,000 rose bushes in the rose garden. Sports fans have fields for baseball and soccer; a gymnasium at the adjoining Randolph Park Recreation Center; and the major league (Colorado Rockies) spring training at Hi Corbett Field. Two 18-hole golf courses--Randolph North and Dell Urich--and 24 lighted tennis courts stay busy at Randolph Park. The LPGA tournament plays at Randolph north each spring.
Free fun for all – Always a lot going on no matter your age or taste. Not just a picnic place but a true recreational experience.
