High price for service preformed – Not what it use to be, also when you point out any problems owners son is very rude and denies any responsibility, will not be going back would rather go somewhere else or do it myself
Very Disapointed Customer – I have been a long time customer of Vintage Car Wash and have gone in on average 3 times a month for the last 12 years. My Daughter and Grandaughters were also customers as well as several of my friends. We would often meet for lunch while getting the cars washed. Their crab salad is great. I have purchased several purses and several pieces of jewelry from them with no problems at all. Oh once in while they would have to run the car back through but that is normal. Just after Christmas I bought a costume watch with lots of black stones. It is lovely and just the kind of thing I like. The young lady wrapped the watch in tissue paper and put it in a bag for me. I was never told they had 40 hour return policy. When I got home I took the watch out of the paper and noticed a jewel had come loose and fallen off the watch. I never even put it on. It still had the gaurd on the stem to protect the battery from running down. I wrapped the watch back up and decided to take it back the next ime I went to get the car washed. I figured if a jewell fell out with out being worn, what would happen if I wore it. I don't know the young mans name who I spoke with but he was very rude and insulting. He would not return my money and did not suggest an exchange for service which I would have done. He suggested I had banged the watch and caused the damage. Needless to say, I still have the watch but Vintage not only lost my business that day. I am still in shock that they would not value a 12 year customer who spent more in a months time than the $60.00 I paid for the watch. I am not ashamed to put my name on this review. WORSE SERVICE – I just got off the phone with the owner who he said his name was Philip and he basically told me that I need to stop my complaining and to be quiet , they tore off my personalized plates off of my car and tore off my frames and told me he will see me in small claims court...I will never again go there and I will tell everyone I know never to go into that car wash as well.....I paid 16.50 for a car was , and my car was not even cleaned right....I am so upset that there customer service is so bad.....today is 08/27/10 this happened at around 1:15 today.......
I've only had good experiences... – I've never had any bad experiences so I don't know how the situation would go down in that event, but it does seem that most people never take the effort to discuss their experiences unless they have something to complain about.
I enjoy having a nice comfortable place to be while they work on my car. Their little lounge area and gift shop make the experience much more enjoyable for me because I don't really like feeling like I'm being waited on, and I hate the "waiting room" feel you get at some places.
Those of you discussing them not being a member of the Modesto Chamber of Commerce... What is the point in that? The Modesto Chamber of Commerce is a joke. They really do nothing to aid businesses beyond collecting fees and filing away complaints from people who tend to complain about everything.
I've had many great experiences with this car wash and kept going back NOT because of the value, NOT because of the people, but because my car looked AMAZING after leaving there, every time.
I'm sure that some of these complaints have merit, but you have to take into account that there are only 14 online complaints and they have people coming in and out of their business constantly. The only feedback that really concerns me from reading these reviews is that the "owners son" is mentioned in most of them and from these reviews has a reputation of being quite the jerk. This isn't happening in my experiences, but I've never had to deal with him. However, that does concern me a bit. From what others are saying he doesn't sound like someone I'd like to deal with in the future. 5 minute car wash has a much better reputation but is waaay too far out of the way for me. Vintage is only 2 blocks from the freeway and like I've said, nothing but positives in the 25+ times I've been there so far.
Really bad experience – I had my brand new car washed there. when I got home I noticed the entire front of the car covered in insects. the inside had not been cleaned adequately and the door jams were still dirty.
Returned to the business and started to talk to the "manager". I was not angry when I got there, but he kept talking to me like I was a two year old and in a condescending manner. He would not allow me to tell him what wasn't done. I requested the name of the owner, which he refused to give me.
When they rewashed the car and gave it back to me, it was still covered with insects in the front, which is why I went there in the first place.
Filing A Small Claims Against Them – I just had my C class benz washed with a 3 month old $269 forward facing car seat in the back. Not only did they neglect to get the cereal out from under my seat they ruined my daughter's car seat. They also broke the light carriage that sits up in the rear window. When I approached the manager very calmly he told me that the car seat was wear and tear, I explained that it did not look like that when I dropped my daughter off at preschool that morning. I did not even mention the light because I did not notice till I got on the road. His only rectification was to vacuum my car again, I said I did not want him touching my car. I went up to the vacuum attendant who admitted she did that to my car seat, and the manager yelled at me for approaching her. I am filing a suit against them, if other people are victims of this business I suggest we ban together and file legal complaints against them!
They broke a lense and when I complained I was told to shut up and get off the property! – I bought their Gold Wash for $21.50 and when I went to get in it, I found they had broken a lens on the back of the cab of my pickup. I tried to complain but they escorted me from the property telling me to "shut up, shut up, get off the property". I assume the person escorting me was, the owners son. Very large muscular young man.
I then told them I was taking them to small claims court and he told me that he has been there before and he never looses. I left the property. As I drove away, all I thought was, how am I going to prove this? It is my word against his.
DO NOT GO THERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES! IF YOU DO, BE PREPARRED TO BE TREATED BADLY AND THREATENED BY THE OWNERS SON IF THEY CAUSE ANY PROBLEM WITH YOUR VEHICLE! Also, they are not members of the Chamber of Commerce in Modesto. So complaining to them won't work.
Sorry for yelling this but I am a good person in my middle 50's and a clean cut guy. I would have thought that I could talk to them.
Shame on you Patricia! Your husband Pete would have never treated me this way if he was still alive!
