Yoga class with variety and proper instruction – Took a yoga class with Omar the other day and it was really great. He started ontime, corrected our form, performed a closing, and ended ontime - 90 minutes. Namaste.

I've been going here for years and the main problem I have with their classes are the following:

- Instructors do not show up on time and sometimes go over 90 minutes and then rush the closing sequence. Please respect us, start on time, and if you are going to go over let the class know so those with schedules can slip out and still get their savasana in.

- Music is so loud that I can't concentrate on the moves or breathing, I'm just straining to hear the instruction.

Music is great but just turn it down a little please.

- Learned in Ashtanga primary and secondary movements at Onlyoga in Atlanta it is impossible to go through Namaskara A or B in it's entirety, the foundation of yoga. There are so many movements that are never visited or taught to those at Crunch. Please offer more than 'Power Yoga' and teach us the full series of movements. Bring it back to the basics. And check on people injuries, many times the transition of one movement to the next is not practices because it can cause injury, just because you can move from A to B doesn't mean you should, that is what the original original transitions are for.

- Help people with their form or at least mention it in class. So many people here learn yoga from these 'Power Yoga' instructors and don't know the basics. Even how to breath, the most important step.

Crunch, D.O.A. on Sunset Boulevard – Crunch is D.O.A. (dead on arrival.) If you like having sxxx with dead gyms (the equipment is filthy / broken) or near dead people (it's the afternoon of the Living Dead in the steam room), you will love Crunch.

In June, 2009, Crunch entered bankruptcy due to "loss of members." This would come as no surprise to anyone who's fled Crunch's disease ridden crib. There are about a thousand reasons why anyone should avoid Crunch like the plague (#1 being the fact, you'll probably catch the plague) but here's the top ten:

One, MSRA - Staph infections. Crunch members could possibly contract one or all of those life-threatening diseases due to the filthy locker-room/shower area & equipment;

Two, dreadful music that's dated and earsplitting. At Crunch, it's the same ten songs, over and over and over, at levels louder than a plane flying overhead.

Third, nightmare parking. Put away some extra cash for the cost of lost (or, stolen) tickets at Crunch.

Four, non-existant security. The locker room's totally unsupervised

Five, the new Crunch management busy trying to sell memberships. And, when you ask them for help or to possibly fix equipment, they'll "get right back to you" or suggest you, "fill out a form." Rigggghhhhttttt.... you can take a hundred cardio classes but nothing's going to give you the lung capacity to hold your breath THAT long.

Worst experience ever!! – I simply wanted to try a spinning class at Crunch and it was a seriously an awful experience. I really hate the hard sell and expected to have someone ask if we (my friend and I) wanted to sign up but this was ridiculous. Not to mention the facility is a mess, the sound system is terrible and the crowd much like an LA club. I have found a great boutique gym in Hollywood called Gear. They don't have memberships and there are no attitudes.

CON ARTISTS – DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS GYM!! I don't usually fill these surveys out unless I have an amazing experience or a completely horrible one. And with Crunch I found the classes to be ok, the gym equipment was ok, locker room fine. But one negative has ruined all the positives.

I was a member of Bally Total Fitness and decided to upgrade to Crunch. When I signed the lengthy and expensive contract I was told that I no longer had a financial obligation to Ballys. Because the two companies were now merged, my only obligation was with Crunch. So one day I get a bill from a debt collection agency representing Bally saying that I owe over $3,000.00 in fees. Imagine the shock. I have spent months back and forth talking to Crunch and Ballys and no one seems to be able or want to help me.

Now that Crunch and Ballys are two separate companies they cant share information on my contract to one another to help me get out of this situation. Once I joined Crunch I was told I had no obligation to Ballys anymore. So why do I get a bill for $3,000.00 and no one to help sort out the matter. Everyone from my local Ballys and Crunch to both their corporate offices have been useless. So now I take my complaint to a lawyer and publicize their lack of communication and responsibility to customer satisfaction on City Search.

This isnt a matter of the personnel not greeting me when I walk in or not liking the music they play. This is about the fact I am being swindled out of $3,000.00. And I am angry. I am angry that when I call these companies it takes days for any one to return my call, if at all. But if I want to sign up there are swarms of people around to help me out.

I warn everyone reading this, if you buy into the hip factor of crunch and sign their contracts you too will have problems and no one to help you. Consider yourself WARNED!!!

A terrible rip off! – For what you will end up paying a month you can find much better for your money. A lot of stuff seems very old and out of date especialy for this "hip" image that they try to give themselves. Also, much of the staff often look very depressed.

I got stuck in a year membership and they continued charging me even after I had requested to quit. Very rude and mentally slow staff in the corporate billing department.

Ehhh – The gym itself is not that much nicer than a Bally's or a 24 hour fitness and it's incredibly annoying that they don't offer water (you can get bottled water, but you have to pay for it--they don't even have cups for tap water). They have a fair amount of machines but their elypticals don't have built in tvs (just the treadmills and the bikes) and it can get very crowded at times. The locker rooms are harsh and cold and not particularly nice either. You have to bring you own lock as well.

I wanted to join the gym on their summer student plan (where you get 3 months for under $200) and the woman who signed me up more or less refused to sign me up and insisted that it was cheaper to do month to month with the "special" discount she would give me. I would up getting charged the full amount for 4 months and spent way more money that I intended for a sub par gym I barely used. They are huge on the upsell here and will do anything to get you to spend money on pricey training sessions and other add ons.

needs some changes! – I joined Crunch because it is the closest gym to where I live: for that convenience, I tolerate an absurd volume of music that plays most of the time, not to mention the choice of music, a disproportionate amount of hip hop and rap, in spite of the fact at least half of the patrons at any given time have their mp3 players on, cranked on high to hear over Crunch's speaker system.

The machines at Crunch are limited. Some of the bigger chain gyms (Bally's and 24 hour fitness) have more machines. And space is an issue here because someone thought it would be great to put in punching bags and a boxing ring. I don't get it.

Some of the trainers seem entitled and have their clients run up and down the only staircase thru general traffic; others have their clients skip rope in the middle of the gym. Be careful.

Also at the front desk check in, there are large clothing racks that narrow the passage; it would seem to me safety is compromised by narrowing a main exit.

Finally, the hours on the weekends were cut back an hour from 7am to 8am. When I asked management why, I was told that Crunch was remodeling. That was at least 3 months prior to any work being done... I would be very suprised if the old hours would be reinstated.

This could be a nice gym; it has some good classes, but it needs to be managed in a way that doesn't make it so offensive.

Best Spin, Abs, Yoga Instructor – I currently have multiple gym memberships in part due to constantly searching for the best instructor. My search has been completed when I started to take Colin K classes (Abs, Spin & Yoga). I have taken hundreds of spin classes and there are no other instructor that constantly change the music and drives each of the spinners to their best capability like him. His energy, motivation and dedication to always provide the best for his class is without comparison to any others. Defiantly take Colin K classes if you are looking for a challenging yet fulfilling workout. It?s like eating a potato chip, you can?t just eat one... You?ll get hooked, he is the best and don?t you deserve the Best in Life?!!

Better than most – After going to 24 hour fitness, and becomming fed up with the water being turned off, or the equipment being broken, I joined Crunch.

The membership isn't cheap, and it is a bit of a scene, but I have to say it is a good gym. Everything is well maintained, I don't see "out of service" on equipment, ever.

If you want an easy in and out gym, this can be it, but I think part of the price tag is related to the glamour/Hollywood association.
