Nice Sushi Lunch – We just had lunch at Wasabi House today. We ordered one lunch special with California Roll and 4 pieces, which were Yellowtail, Tuna, Salmon, and White Tuna. We were happy they didn't serve the typical "undesirable" pieces like egg or shrimp. We also ordered other individual pieces. All pieces were very fresh. Service was very fast and timely until the end, when our server decided to sit in the back of the restaurant. Weird, huh? Green tea was $1; shame on us, since it was clearly stated in the menu (we are frugal)...................
BRMASS, you gave a one-star rating to the wrong restaurant. The buffet place located on Roswell Road is called Roswell Wasabi.
DONT VISIT THE ROSWELL ROAD LOCATION – My husband and I took my sister and her boyfriend here while they were in town. They have a sushi buffet at the Roswell Road location and for lunch, it's a pretty good deal at less than $10 and my husband said it was good....however, on Sundays they charge dinner prices of $15.99. The sushi was not chilled and the warm food options were not only weird for a Japanese restaurant but also cold! The food was gross and all of us felt bad most of the afternoon afterwards. They even messed up the dessert options...they tasted like they had been out for days. Definitely not worth $16 each considering the waiters picked up 1/2 full plates of food both times they came by to clear the table. Very gross and we will not be back! If you want good sushi in this area, suffer through the bad service at Sushi Mio or make the drive up to JP Sushi...these places are great! Also, Goldfish by the Perimeter Mall is wonderful as well!
This is the BEST! The one to rate all others against! – I have been going to Wasabi House since its inception (even before, when they were in a smaller Dwoody location) Very Good service, Friendly atmosphere and Delicious Food. WASSSSSSSSSAAAAABIIIIIII HOWZ
Should not have returned after the first bad meal. Now can claim 2 bad meals – I moved to the Dunwoody area in April and was thrilled to discover what I thought was a traditional Japanese Sushi Restaurant. My initial visit in April left me extremely disappointed with the tempura/sushi lunch special that was ordered. The portions were small, my glass of water tasted funny, the tempura was over cooked... I learned long ago from my Japanese mother that tempura should be very light/beige; if the batter is thick/dark brown, this means they have not changed out the cooking oil in a while. Also, their carpet was dirty at that time, and I resigned myself to not going back again. WELL AS IT TURNS OUT, I was in the area again today and decided to give them A SECOND CHANCE. In all fairness, I will admit that I enjoyed the hot miso soup, and the cold crisp lettuce on my salad, but other than that, the tempura batter was AGAIN THICK AND DARK indicating old cooking oil. Each of the 3 fried tempura string beans still had a long stem attached. The shrimp tempura was all batter. Two of the tempura pieces were so overcooked and crusty brown that I was not sure if they were fried bananas or fried sweet potatoe pieces. AND again, the water had a funny taste to it, The ginger dressing was more in character with the gooey thickness of a ginger like/spicy thousand island dressing on my salad. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, the restaurant's fish tank was within my line of vision... their fish tank was deplorable. The fish tank WATER was dark green/algae and extremely cloudy; the only time you could see a fish is if it bumped against the glass wall of the tank. To top things off, they had a radio station playing loud rock n'roll music overhead. My intention was lunch, not attending a rock concert. I left a 15% tip (which my waitress really did not deserve because she never did come to check and see if I needed anything, or to ask if I enjoyed my meal). I WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN , EVER GIVE THEM MY BUSINESS.
Wacky at Wasabi – My two friends and I were very disappointed with the service we received last night. Everything took such a long time and after our food arrived, the entire staff seemed to disappear for an hour to the back of the restaurant. We were one of three tables in the entire place -- and for $71, we should have received our appetizer before dinner, NOT after dinner. Our appetizer, which was a fried roll, came out nearly cold and the saki was so hot it was like they forgot about it in the microwave. The saki containers nearly burned our fingers off. This was an all-around bad dining experience and I would not recommend it to anyone.
great sushi!! – Wasabi House is awesome!!! I love their food and relaxed atmosphere. It's a family owned business, great for kids, and it's fun. :) They also recently opened up habachi tables. The price is right and I recommend you try it.
Beats Buckhead and Highlands – The food and service are excellent! Wasabi House is better than any high priced restaurants in Buckhead or the Highlands.
Best Sushi! – This is the best sushi in Atlanta. I am a sushi lover and I have tried a lot of the restaurants here in Atlanta. I even took a class once. Wasabi house is the best, better than Soto and Harry and Sons. You have to go and try the Crunchy rice roll and the Double Decker roll. Plus the service is great and they just open a Hibachi grill.
Good Sushi in Dunwoody? Yes! – The restaurant may seem unassuming sitting in a corner of a Dunwoody square....but what a surprise! I have been back at least once a week since my initial sampling of a mouth-watering roll by the name of the Soloman Roll - absolutely decadent! The sushi overall is very well balanced and of great quality. I have even strayed away from the sushi menu on occasion and sampled other dishes on thier menu. The Bimimbop is outstanding as is the "Sunny Side up Shrimp". I would highly recommend this place for any sushi lover out there- don't forget to try the Soloman Roll.
Great Sushi! – Fantastic sushi in a laid back atmosphere. Charles and the rest of the staff are incredibly friendly. There is even a great selection for the non-sushi eaters out there.
