Worst Expreience I've Had In a Long Time. Shawn,

I have not chosen TruGreen, I have actually went with another company. The reason being that the representative that responded to me was very high pressure and almost insistent that he send someone out to do a treatment on my lawn the next day without anyone from your company to come and inspect what might potentially be lawn issues. I did not appreciate this high pressure sales (particularly from a call center apparently in Florida talking about a lawn in Pennsylvania).

Further:

• This representative lied to me by telling me that neighbors on either side of me were currently TruGreen clients and when I spoke to them the said they had never contracted with TruGreen (and had never intended to). What is the purpose of giving false references that could be so easily checked out.

• The 855 number that the representative and you have given me does not work … every time I call it I get a recording saying that the call can’t be completed.

• I therefore called the 727 number where I asked to speak to a manager. They transferred me to someone in the Malvern, PA office and when I told the woman who answered the phone that I would like to speak to a manager (actually asked her twice to talk to a manager) she said she was customer service and she would handle my call.

• I explained the above story to her and she told me that she would have to give me a number so that I could call and talk to a manager for my complaint. I told her I didn’t want the number and that she should handle my complaint since that is what she said in the beginning.

Just Canceled the account with TruGreen - Really bad service. I have been trying to call their local office for over 3 weeks trying to resolve a billing problem. I am a prepaid customer. I paid for the services up front for the entire season for both tree and lawn services. At the end of the season, I received a bill for outstanding balance for my tree service. The first time that happened, it took me 3 calls to get that straighten out . They didn't properly applied the right discounts.

Recently, I got a bill for the outstanding balance for my lawn service. I tried to contact the local office for 3 weeks now. Not able to get anyone to picking up the call. I ended up calling their corporate office. All they did was taking down my contact information and promised to have the local office manager to call me back. Guess what, they never called. I called their corporate office 5 times -- same response and never got anywhere. Also, there is no escalation from their corporate. They can't even fix the bill even they saw all the records in the system.

As far as I am concerned, I don't owe them anything due to their billing error.

I also told them that I don't want to use their services any more for the up coming season. I had taken down the name of the person @ corporate and the ticket number for my request for cancellation. If they came out and performed any service next season, that is their problem.

When they want to sell you add-ons, they don't seem to have problem finding someone to call me. But when we have issues to resolve, they are no where to be found. There are many others are happy to take my business.

DON'T USE THEM.

Abolutely No Customer Service Inquiries Are Possible. If you attempt to call the centralized customer service number you will get a busy signal, continuous ring with no answer, or continuous rings with an automatic hang up. If there were a no star rating, I would select it. This company sucks.

Shockingly Poor Service. It's disheartening to have to submit this review because working with this company can be characterized as truly "nightmare-ish". TruGreen Malvern is a slick operation, with very fancy mailers which promise a great deal, but deliver far, far less. I would greatly caution anyone who wants to use this service. I found them to be very friendly initially, but when I cancelled my account, they continued to come, claiming they never received my cancellation number. Then, they adamantly took the position that I was wrong and that I had not called them to cancel. On top of that, they actually billed me for work that they did not even perform, but claimed they did! And to add insult on injury, they hounded me with phone calls day and night to pay them the $41 that I didn't owe. I work at home, so I can see for myself that the work was not done. They didn't apologize, but, tellingly, they did say they would "clear" those charges without admitting fault (basically, they lied). The work quality itself was very poor and they actually damaged my grass because of their neglect. I had called them to offer to pay them 3 times more to do a better job (I have a large lawn), but they never got back to me. Overall, I strongly believe this is a churn and burn operation, hoping that they will get enough people to sign up for their low "come on" rates and do the least possible work. They know you will cancel eventually, but at least they got some of your money in the interim. I would strongly recommend against using them or, if you must, carefully police whether they actually come or not, and check your bill carefully. Make sure to write down everyone you spoke to on the phone and perhaps get their email address, so you can legally "memorialize" the conversation that you had, so you have proof of all your conversations.
