should you really endure the rudeness for great pizza? – pizzetta 211 reminds me of the great seinfield episode - you know the one about the SOUP !!!!

what more could you ask for when eating a sublime pizza - but to have an incredibly rude staff who does not care whether or not you are there because GUESS WHAT there is someone else who will take your seat and deal with bad customer service.

My story is not diffferent than the rest other than if you read this - please do not go. its not worth it. learn to make your own pizza.

but if you choose to go remember this - DO NOT BUS THE TABLES even when they walk by a dirty table (many times) and you are waiting on it. wait until they decide it is okay for you to sit

pizzetta staff - please know that someday someone will figure out how to do what you with a smile and you will be out of business.

demoralizing service – The food is terrific, but I felt TERRIBLE after simply trying to buy a pizza from the people behind the counter.

Everybody seems to be right – How can all of the widely varying reviews be right about this place? The pizzas are incredible. And the service exudes a negative energy at times. Yes. Both are true. The menu is limited, but that means they can concentrate on perfection. The owners nailed a niche opening in the neighborhood and execute on it very well. It could be bigger, but part of the ambiance is the small number of closely drawn tables.

Top 5 Restaurants – What is not to like about this place? The pizzas are done in the great Neopolitan style with thin crust and fresh, unique, changing ingriedients. In addition, all ingriedients, whenever possible, are organic, free range and from local farms; the way food was meant to be. The menu and wine list is small but creative. The space is quaint and warm with a hint of romance and reminds of sitting in my cousin's kitchen in Tuscany. The wait staff was pleasant and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there. One warning: It is easy to get carried away and before you know it you find yourself with a hundred dollar tab for two. Well worth it though. Now go.

Pricey Pizza – Even though their pizza are great, staffs are rude and unfriendly. Menu are somewhat pricey. Pizza is small; kids can eat two whole pizza. Very small place and difficult to find parking.

This is the Best Pizza in SF bar none!! – There is lots of chatter about the this new pizza on 18th St. ...or that new pizza on Chestnut St. but come on!...this is something that if done well should be very consistent at very high level. That is what I find here at Pizzetta 211 very well thought out pizza with high quality mostly organic ingredients with continuity in cooking technique...and viola! great delicious pizza! With seasonal side plates and salads that are fresh and precise it as much as one can expect for so small intimate pizza restaurant. There are 6-8 well chosen wines and combine that with very friendly service that is not overbearing and understands your space and others. Now that being said with 4 small tables and 4 counter chairs inside it sure does not make much room for your dog to rest next to you when dining there. I guess it would tough to have baby stroller or small children there as well...so leave the kids with the babysitter. Then come in for the friendly service and best pizza in San Francisco!

Avoid this place – This place has bad vibes and extremely negative energy.

May be they do make good pizza, but it's not worth the attitude.

I know places with better pizza.

Treating people like these guys do accumulates BAD karma.

Lousy service, limited seating, irritating crowd – The food is pretty good, but closer to $$ than $ and it really doesn't make up for the service. The staff are unattentive and rude. The place has a romantic setting and might have a charming ambiance, but it's always stuffed to the hilt with irritating yuppies who think they've found a neighborhood treasure and are eager to believe it. Really, you can get better pizza for less money in the city and have a much better experience. Keep looking. :)

Prepare to wait for a seat – After reading countless negative reviews about customer service ( my #1 restaurant peeve ) and therefore procrastinating on making the two block walk to this little pizza cafe, I finally made it over there. Yes the place is tiny with only four tables inside and another four out on the sidewalk, we were lucky to arrive early at about 7pm and grab a table right off. The staff were friendly and didn't rush us. The place is very low key and unpretentious with a rustic ambiance, wine is served up in small glass cups, no fancy crystal here.

The pizza menu changes weekly, its thin crust and light on the toppings, mostly vegatarian.

You won't find any pepperoni toppings, simply fresh vegtables and greens from bay area farms.

Delicious salads also served, simple wine list: red, white and rose's all covered with a short beer list covering all possible tastes.

Your order is served quick, and then you can sit back comfortably and watch the crowds build outside. Nice sampling of desserts with espresso or tea being the only hot beverage they serve, want a coffee try an americano.

In regards to customer service, we had no problems, I think this place is so busy that the few servers have no time to be overwhelming fawning to customers demands. It looked to me like the customers had the attitudes and thought they were at a 4 star restaraunt and not a hole in the wall pizzeria with prehaps three star prices.

Worth a look if you're fond of the organic Nor-Cal cusine and don't mind paying for it. Check it out- it ain't no Chicago deep dish but it is delicious.

Great Pizza, Strange "Service" – My husband and I tried this place shortly after moving to the neighborhood. We walked in and were not greeted at all. We decided to sit at the counter and they reluctantly gave us a menu. We felt very unwelcome and pondered leaving, but really wanted to try the pizza, so we stayed despite our discomfort. The pizza was great, but the people behind the counter were just plain odd. Too bad they don't have delivery, because I would like to eat the pizza again, but wouldn't want to have to go there to do it.
