one of my favorite places – BD's is awesome. You essentially get to make your own stir fry, with whatever you want in it. It's very inexpensive and delicious. The guys at the grill have great personality and flair, too. It's also huge, so there's almost always plenty of seating. I would avoid the noon to 1:00 lunch rush during the week though.
Interactive chain lets you select the ingredients and spices, then watch as they are stir fried in front of you. – In Short
Mostly families and groups fill the large dining room at this laid-back, loud and hip restaurant. Colorful walls are decked with funky paintings and posters. Choose from an array of meats, crisp vegetables, oils and spices. Throw it all in a bowl and ask the people at the grill to stir fry it for you. The chefs are armed with swords as their primary cooking utensils and can be as flavorful as the dishes.
for the love of bbq – If you are looking for a different place to try this is it. You get a wide variety of ingredients to make your own dish. You pick what meats, veggies, sauces and spices you want and they cook right in front of you. If you don't trust yourself with all the options they also have recipes available. I would recommend the unlimited bowl option, that way you can try lots of different recipes.
A lot to squeeze in a bowl – There are lots of choices here. They even have recipe cards for you just in case you need help putting it all together. Think buffet with a grill at the end. A fun experience, but the bowls are a little small. So make sure you stack it up!
Nice decor, but below average food – The decorations are nice. The choices of ingredients are abundant. However, B D lacks the very essence of a good restaurant, good food. The grillers dont know what they are doing when they are preparing your food. They dont know how to use the Mongolian grill to optimize the taste of your food. First, your food sits in one spot on the grill to burn. Then, right before the food dries out completely, grillers chops everything into pieces, (including your noodles). It disgusts me and makes me laugh at the same time when the grillers try to perform tricks with their cooking utensils. They dont know how to use the grill or cook, yet they think they are so cool and deserve some tips.
If you are looking for good authentic taste of Mongolian BBQ, go elsewhere. You wont find it here!
Travel to a Distant Land - in LoDo – B.D.'s is like traveling - it takes a sense and spirit of adventure. Vegan-friendly food preparation makes it ideal for folks with various dietary requirements. The atmosphere is fun and funky, but families are comfortable and bring children often. It's so much nicer to let someone else do all the chopping!! And all my favorite ingredients are there, as well as my whole refrigerator full of condiments and sauces. The salad bar, while small, offers the freshest and best ingredients, and soups are great for lunch/dinner in chilly fall, winter, spring. Before a play, a show at the Pepsi Center or a ball game, B.D.'s offers a fun dining experience for those who aren't afraid to mix cajun spices with garlic and sweet and sour. I highly recommend this favorite eatery - remember, it's the journey not necessarily the destination!
