I love this place. Maybe after their bad reviews in 2009 (below), they cleaned up their act--the staff is very friendly and accommodating, the food is fabulous (try the crab puffs, OMG!), prices fairly reasonable. We took out of town guests and they loved it.

great lychee smoothie – usually not a big fan of going out to eat chinese, but enjoyed eating at this restaurant. They had an amazing lychee sushi, prices were pretty cheap, and it has a nice ambience and decor. Food was fairly decent too, if not outstanding.

ROACH PROBLEM – I took my girlfriend on a date, and we sat at the sushi bar. The staff was great, however as we were talking, a roach walked across my saki on the sushi bar. I talked to the manager and he said they have a pest problem and the exterminator comes every Tuesday, but roaches come out after, and he even went on to say "you can not get rid of all the roaches, I hope you come back."

Yummy and Beautiful – I enjoy going to this restaurant. The food is delicious and served promptly. The decor is stupendous. The staff remembers my name, even after months at a time. I bring new patrons to show off this hidden gem. Eat here!

Never Again! – You have got to be kidding me? Best chinese food in Houston? After reading a few of the reviews, I thought I would give it a try, being new to the area. The wait staff was rude, the food was anything but tasty and the prices were high for the quality of food. I will not eat here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. I don't see how they are still in business, serving this quality of food.

Food Very Much Out of Sorts Today – Qin's is usually on top of my list as far as Chinese Restaurants go. But today, everything was horrible! I ordered the General Tso's Chicken with hot and sour soup, spring roll, and rice. I asked for the "fried noodles" to go with the soup. I got it "take out", but normally whether take out or eating in, everything is just great!

Well, not today!!! The noodles were fried almost to a crisp (very dark and hard). The spring roll was unedible and very tough, and the chicken and rise was cold.

Maybe they were having a "bad cook" day, but needles to say, lunch was not very good!

Will I eat there again? Probably! It's just that after receiving such good results all the other times I've eaten there, today was a total shocker.

Finally - good Chinese food in Houston! – I have been looking for decent Chinese food in Houston and finally found it! Good flavors, light on the oil - it was a pleasant surprise, although it is a bit pricey, but well worth it.

Refused to fix issue with undercooked food and incorrect order – I wanted to splurge (dishes are pricey) so I ordered from Qin Dynasty

for the tasty Buddhas Eggplant dish and a chicken dish and an appitizer. Well,

when ordering over the phone I had the clueless girl repeat the order and she

had it wrong. I corrected her and she was irked I had corrected her. I pick up the $23

order and get home. Open things up and it was the

wrong dish. I called back and the girl wanted to argue with me. And not fix the issue. I

mentioned I had corrected her on the repeat but the girl did not

listen. She did not know what to do. After being on hold for a few

minutes I got her to make the correct dish. I was there in 10 minutes to return the wrong dish and to pick up the correct one. No apologies when I picked it up. I get home and the original part of

the order is cold already and soggy. I dig in on the eggplants and

they are all undercooked. I cannot bite through them. I call the

manager who wanted to do nothing about this issue. He finally says I will give you 50%

off the next visit. I said, next visit how about fixing this visit? I

told him how about I bring this back and you give me a full refund. He

paused, I said I am on my way. I get there and they have my cash right

there and I ask to speak with Johnathan, the manager, he quickly turns away

when he sees me. No apologies.

Wasted an hour, got no food.

Never again.

Traditional, but compelling Chinese cuisine in a grandiose setting. – The Scene
Brace yourself: The interior of Qin Dynasty is seriously elegant. This strip-center newcomer boasts towering ceilings with detailed crown molding, majestic mahogany windows with rich tapestry drapes and an exotic collection of Asian artifacts. Expect to hear lots of "wows" from diners, who are mostly business people and couples rather than families with kids.

The Food
Generally, Qin Dynasty's polished service and Hunan cuisine measures up to the impressive decor. Soulful sauces are made with premium ingredients and devoid of sugar and oily goop. Begin with deftly prepared hot and sour soup or distinctive steamed dumplings bathing in a pool of aromatic Szechuan sauce. Segue into the red-hot shredded pork and bamboo sprout entree or the tamer, tender kung pao chicken, abundant with cashews. Egg-heavy lo mein disappoints, but yu shiang shrimp with just-picked snow peas, asparagus tips, pungent ginger and fresh jalapeños teeters on the edge of perfection.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant – I eat allot of Chinese and this place is the best to me. I usually go for lunch so it is not as expensive (lunch menu) as the dinner menu, just like all Chinese places. I usually get the general Tso chicken that is made with all white meat. The food always comes out in a timely manner and is always hot. The place is nice but I am an eater and don?t really care about looks, but it is a very nice place.
