Long before Top Chef appeared on TV screens and the latest round of New Southern restaurants opened to rave reviews, Chef Jason Hill has been plying his trade here in Inman Park. Favorites like their shrimp & grits and their skate have fans throughout the neighborhood.

Calculated Gratuity on Tax!!! – I have no complaints re: the food, although I found a lot of the dinner selections unapppealing and the carrrot cake dessert was small and overly sweet. What I do have a big problem with is that my Scoutmob coupon stated 18% gratuity may be added. That's fine for the pre discounted cost of the meal, but to include the tax in total for calculating the gratuity in never done and is cheezy!!!

Great Gluten Free Menu – Wisteria is a great choice for gluten free dinning. They have a great selection of gluten free options and everything is always fresh, well prepared and great tasting. We have eaten there 3 or 4 times and have always had a good experience. The noise level can be a bit harsh, especially on a busy Saturday night, but the place has a good vibe about it and everyone seems to be having a good time. Make sure you have a reservation if you are going on Friday or Saturday nights.

Disappointing – I've been there twice in the last month and struggled to find anything here worth trying again until things change. Two weeks ago my wife and I were at Wisteria and couldn't agree on any of the entrees so we settled for apps, the wine special (a nice expensive Pino), a couple of salads and dessert all of which worked well. It was good night out and we thought worth a second attempt. With a great old friend visiting us from DC this week, we tried Wisteria again last night in hopes of a offering a great example of in town Atlanta dining. Again, the service and ambiance were nice but the entrees tried which included the Shrimp and Grits, Skate Wing , Molasses rubbed Pork Tenderloin and the Gemilli Pasta were all disappointing. None of us finished our plate with any real satisfaction. It was so bad I skipped dessert. With a handful of other great restaurants so close and within walking distance (Soto/Fritti, Babette's, Rathburn's and Urban Licks and others) Jason Hill needs to spin up something new and soon.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Boasting brick walls, a centerpiece bar and crisp white table linens, this intimate eatery is the epitome of Inman Park’s renowned fine dining scene. In short, it’s high end (in both food and environment) but isn’t stuffy. Chef-owner Jason Hill's Southern-influenced menu revolves seasonally and features the kind of dressed-up comfort food you wish your mama had made. Lump crab cakes are beautifully paired with a lively corn succotash while scallops sit atop a bed of pork belly, sauced in a barbecue-like bourbon drizzle. Many entrees, such as grilled beef tenderloin with cheddar and a horseradish jus are soul-soothing wonders. Hill further separates himself from the restaurateur pack with an inventive gluten-free menu, turning the likes of shrimp and grits and pork tenderloin with sweet potato soufflé into culinary life savers for those with wheat allergies. Regardless, all diets should save room for their wonderfully refreshing granita dessert.

Impressive – My family and I went to this place when my cousin visited us from overseas. We were truly impressed by their food selection. It was fresh and that made it flavorful. The service was prompt but the place was not spacious enough to cater to a large number of guests.

What a wonderful restaurant – Wisteria is a lifesaver for us. Being a celiac (gluten intolerance) eating out is more than a challenge for me and Wisteria is so wonderful with its' separate gluten free menu. The food is always delicious and fresh to the table. My gluten free options are amazing and my husband always enjoys what he has. It's a perfect marriage at Wisteria!! The service is good and neighborhood friendly. At the busiest times it can get a bit noisy in the dinning room, but it sort of adds a bit of excitement to the evening.....being at an 'in' place with great food and a wonderful wine list..what more could you ask for? All celiacs must give this place a try!! Everyone else as well.

Wisteria is legit. – The menu is diverse. They provide enough choices but not too many to overwhelm. The portion sizes for the entrees were generous (meaning just right) for a fine dining experience.

We had the sea scallops on braised pork belly and raddichio for an appetizer. Very good start to an excellent meal.

My wife had the North Atlantic Skate Wing (Stingray) w/grits and asparagus. The fish was delicate but not fishy. It was perfect.

I had the Pork Tenderloin glazed with molasses served w/apple and walnut relish and sweet potato souffle. We also shared side of braised greens mac and cheese (made with sharp cheddar).

We shared the coconut creme pie for dessert. The taste was good but the portion small. The waiter could have helped us make a better selection since we had never been there.

This is definitely a restaurant we would return to. We had a great overall experience. 5 stars.

My Experience – There is no separation between tables. The tables are too close to each other.
