Worship rock legends while dining on familiar American favorites. – In Short
Walls covered with decades of Top-40 memorabilia, rock songs blaring in the background and an all-American menu typify this music-themed restaurant. The kitchen churns out group-friendly appetizers like nachos and Southern staples like barbecue ribs and chicken. Burgers are served with hefty sides of fries and the signature pulled-pork sandwich is topped with vinegar barbecue sauce. The gift shop sells branded items like T-shirts, shot glasses and hats.

Cool Decor – The caribbean j chicken sandwich is really good & the bubblegum shots are fun to start the night with. They came to our rescue when we needed clothes to get into Escape upstairs... the gift shop is open till bar close!!

Boring experience – The food and drinks are okay. The memorabilia is fun to look at for a few minutes. I didn't have an awful experience, but I certainly didn't have a memorable one. For the price, you could find a nice neighborhood joint and get good food.

Decent Food, Rude Hostess – I put my group of 12 on the list ahead of time, using the online "PX" system. This was to put our names on the list, NOT a reservation. We were late getting to the restaurant, as our names were put down for 3:40 pm and we came in at 4:15 pm. When I spoke with the hostess I told her our situation, apologized, and asked if we could still be seated or not. The hostess replied "that was like an hour ago" and stormed off. She did not tell me if we would be getting a table or not and did not accept my apology. Needless to say we were a little surprised. We waited around and finally the hostess returned and said to follow her. She did take us to a table, but when I said "we really appreciate this" she rolled her eyes at me and stormed off again. We did have excellent service from our waitress and the food was surprisingly good, however the hostess was too much. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on this place, when there are so many other places that have good food and a NICE Host staff.

Wish I'd read the other reveiws before going! – The worst service I have ever experienced.

Probably fun for partying on a weekend or after work drinks, but not the place to have dinner. The service was terrible. The prices were extreme. Did I mention the service was terrible? Don't try the Rock Hard brownie sundae (not Hard Rock -- ROCK HARD).

must see – I can't believe that so many people are complaining about having to wait. What were you expecting? It is kinda' famous you know!! Is it worth the wait, depends on what you want. I'm very surprised to have liked this place, in fact I went in thinking "just another tourist trap". I've been back 4 times since the very first week in 2002. The foods just standard burger fare, could get food just as good in any burger joint. (Don't pay extra for onion rings, they're just so-so.) What makes it fun is the "experience". Don't go just for the food, or just for the rock and roll items, go for a bit of both.

Rood resembled its Name – The atmosphere was OK. The Rock and Roll memorabilia was interesting! There are a lot of flat screen TV's playing constant videos. Live music would be much more interesting, than just viewing the MTV videos! The food was pretty bad. My appetizer tasted like it came directly out of a frozen food box, and was not even hot. You'd think they would at least do a decent burger, but my daughter thought it was pretty tasteless. To top the experience, the waiter seemed to think that he must become our friend to earn a decent tip. He was so intrusive, I thought he was going to shove his way into our booth. I would have increased his tip, simply to make him go away! All in all a pretty dismal dining experience.

Hard Rock Sucks – This was without a doubt the poorest quality food in the entire downtown Minneapolis area. It was my second visit. The first was shortly after the opening. The food and service were awful then, but I thought that just may be due to the fact it was the first week after opening. I was wrong. 3 months later and the experience is the same. Terrible food, marginal service. By far the most disappointing part of the visit was the food. Everything came out remarkably fast, but oddly, it was all cold. And of very poor quality. To top it off, the beer seemed watered down too. All in all the worst $75 spent on entertainment all year.

Don't Bother – This is the smallest Hard Rock I've ever been to and I've visited a handful. Don't bother to go with a large party, such as a birthday group, because they have only one room with which to accommodate large groups, and with my party of 10 they would not take a reservation. The rock memorabilia is minimal and you could probably purchase just as much yourself on an internet auction site. Drinks are drinks, you can get them at any downtown MPLS bar and the Hard Rock's food is typical sandwich/burger fare; definitely nothing special there. Unfortunately, the big guitar on the outside of the building makes it look like it's going to be a big, hip, cool place to visit. Don't be fooled. Instead, go to any of the other numerous downtown bar/restaurants that are well established and have been happily serving Twin Citians for years.
