Night out on the town – My boyfriend and I went downtown to check out the new Hard Rock Cafe and when we got there I absolutly loved the look on the outside of the resturaunt. But when got to the door we had to pay a cover just to enter the place because they had a band there, but all we wanted to do is eat dinner. So we went to add our name to the list to be seated and the wait was 2 1/2 hours long. So we left and we didn't get reinbursed for the door cover. I think that is rediculus. Plus the place is really small and doesn't have a lot of tables for eating. The bar was also really small.
Hard Rock Rocks – Very cool Hard Rock smaller then typical of other Hard Rocks but very very cool. Music is great, and so is the food.
Boring & Sterile! – After a recent football game - decided to walk down to the Hard Rock Cafe. I've been to several Hard Rock's throughout the country/world and this one has NOTHING to show! It was a Sunday night and the place was lit up like a operating room - it was SO bright in there. Though we were there for only one drink, we did not hear a single song - it's a "Hard Rock" don't you think some music should've been playing!?
Block E Cornerstone – It was Thursday night. Forty-five minute wait quoted. Nowhere in the bar to stand; took up a post in the gift shop. Tried to look at the memorabilia, but it was just too crowded. Noise level was too high for conversation, so we just ate our meal and watched the video screen. The bacon cheeseburger and the "pig sandwich" are both big and tasty, but was this place ever skimpy on the fries! I'll probably return, but only after this initial hype has calmed down. I also want to know where that elevator in the back hallway goes!
Big name, little restaurant knowledge... – We were told it would be a 2.5 hour wait. We waited at least 3.25 hours and hundreds of dollars in drinks (we had 14 pepole in our party) later, we ended up leaving with no apologies. In fact, the hosts were incredibly rude regarding the whole matter. It was my friend's birthday and their treatment of us ruined it. We ended up at Donavon's instead and had a grand time there. By the way, this is the tiniest Hard Rock I've ever seen!
Been There, Done That – The first strike against the Hard Rock is that they do not take reservations for lunch. This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine for any restaurant. The second came with the fact that our server, although speedy and friendly, could not keep our orders straight. No one ordered anything out of the ordinary: a lemon with a drink, salad dressing on the side, water, burgers prepared a specific way, etc. This will hopefully improve over time. Third, the food is mediocre at best and waaaaaay over priced, that goes for the drinks, too. The best cheeseburger? Walk one block over to Gluek's and you'll see that you've been fooled. Or try one of the many malt shops around the city. It's a new, yet recognizable face in a city that needs a little more variety so it's worth checking out once. Once.
Minneapolis Finally Rocks! – Minneapolis finally has the perfect cheeseburger. It can be found, amongst amazing ambience, at the Hard Rock Cafe. The wait is long, and the restaurant is cosy, but it's certainly worth it. The staff makes the experience, dancing, singing, and ensuring the fun of each guest. The Hurricaine packs more punch than the the mosh pit thronging the bar - it's proving itself to be the new 'see & be seen' hot spot downtown Minneapolis.
Hard Knocks at Hard Rock – The first word that comes to mind is...Disappointment! I was so excited to try out the new Minneapolis Hard Rock-- we arrived at 11:25 and were seated right away, which was a great start. However, 15 minutes later, the server finally showed up and asked "Have I been making you wait a while?" (No apology, of course). He then specifically asked us if we were heading back to work or if we wanted some beers--we said we were going back to work (which was our cue to him to be quick about the service--ha!) The lemonade was frighteninly awful. After another 25 minutes and still no food (40 min. after walking in), we finally decided to walk out, and let them know on our way out why we were leaving. Don't go here unless you have 2 hours to splurge! The experience (and the menu) isn't worth it.
Not Worth the Wait – Went to it the first weekend it opened and my expereince there can be summed up in one word...HORRIBLE. I was told the wait would be a mere 45 minutes for a table for four. Well an hour goes by and we're still not seated. So I check in and they tell me just another 25 minutes. Well an half an hour goes by and still nothing. So I check in again and what did they say? You guessed it ANOTHER 25 minutes. Needless to say after waiting over two hours we decided to leave. I must say I was really disappointed in the wait staff. No one was helpful and did not seem to have control over seating people. I would not recommend going here unless you don't mind a two hour wait for marginal food and an ambiance that rivals Champps.
