Great Hotel BUT... – It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Somewhat rude.......... – Upon entering the room, we were greeted by a worker who told us we were not allowed in the room until exactly 6:30 pm. Ended up going to the bar to wait. When the father of the groom arrived, he was told he had to wait 3 mins to enter the room. Air conditioning must have been on high. Most guests complaining how cold it was. Had to ask for coffee. Food was okay.
Don't waste your money having a reception or anything of the sort at this place.
I believe you're referring to access to a wedding reception room. We coordinate the opening of the room with the Bride & Groom who have florists and other people doing final setup on the room. We don't open the doors until all preparations are completed so that attendees can walk into a completed room. It also allows the setup people to complete their work without disturbing the guests.
Do NOT use for Weddings or events – My fiance and I booked the Sterling Inn for our wedding. We had to cancel due to financial hardships. We paid a $1500 deposit. They told us that we would not get our deposit back, which I understood when I signed the contract. When we cancelled, there was a $3000 cancellation fee that they waived (which if I was going to pay $3000 to cancel, we may as well have had the wedding there, duh). When we went in to meet with the manager, she made a verbal agreement to us that if someone booked the room on the same day that they would give us our deposit back. I had my mother-in-law to be call to see if there was a room available for the date because she was looking for a last-minute reception site. They said no, it was booked and they only had the smaller room booked. So we knew we were getting the deposit back. When we called back a couple of weeks later, they told us that the room was not booked and that we would not get our deposit back. She made a VERBAL COMMITMENT to us that we would get it back. If they didn't want to give it back to us, they should have never made that commitment in the first place and I wouldn't be so angry about the whole situation. I then turned them into the B B B and the manager told the B B B that she never made a verbal commitment and she doesn't know what I am talking about. These people are snakes and I would never recommend them to a single soul. I have family that works there and that is still the way that we were treated.
If you are looking into the Sterling Inn... RUN FAST!!!!!

Great Experience for our wedding! – I can not begin to say enough good things about the service for our wedding - the coordinators were fantastic, guests raved about the food, which included our wedding cake...everything was done perfectly! The hall is smoke-free and the client service is fantastic - we have gone back for their holiday dinners and they too were fantastic!
Loud and Rowdy – Stayed there after a wedding reception in one of the ballrooms. Food was darned good, but the experience in the room was terrible! While the amenities were very nice and expected from a large hotel chain, I couldn't get the scent of ganja out of my nose. The entire hallway was filled with the smell. Guests in the other rooms were blaring music and running up and down the halls all night. I barely got any sleep. I would recommend this hotel stay to those who only would like to stay up all night and get high.
