Blown Away! – I have just recently moved back to the area and used to frequent Miso semi-regularly. The food, drinks, service and atmosphere were always great. I just revisited after a couple of years and it is even better now. The remodel and expansion are amazing and not thinking it was possible but the sushi and food from thier kitchen menu is better than I remember. I will be back on a regularly. The happy hour menu is incredible too.
Freaking AWESOME! – First it was like walking into a different place, they changed everything down stairs and feels like a nice place to be seen, then they had everything I wanted and our service was so perfect!
EVEN on a busy night we got our drinks and dinner right on time, our server was so fun and knowledgeable, I dont remember his name but he was definitely a hottie! He recommended a few things but i stuck with the crab rangoon and spicy tuna roll (best in st louis!)
If you want some great sushi I would recommend Miso to anyone!
Rude Rude Rude – Blown away by the blatant rudeness of staff and management @ Miso.
I can see by other reviews on this page that this is par for the course for this place...........
Bad service, bad sushi – It was all bad. Nothing positive to say.
Amazing food and great place to bring a date – Awesome dj's great place to meet singles and mingle, great happy hour. very alive and busy. I will come back
Awesome place! Hot girls everywhere! – This place is awesome, great food and great atmosphere! this is one of the best bars in clayton. I recommend this place or walk next store to Roxannes.
Not what it once was – Miso was once the best sushi restaurant in St. Louis. Not any longer. The sushi was mediocre, the rolls fell apart, and the very average seaweed salad was a preposterous $8, about 3 times more expensive than I have ever seen it. The nigiri was decent and generously sized. Service was poor. Waiter forgot part of our order. All of this would have perhaps been tolerable were it not for the fact that the food here is about 1.5-2 times more expensive than other area sushi restaurants. Atmosphere is still nice, which is basically what you're paying for. Still a good place to go for a drink.
Best overall for sushi – Went early on a Saturday night with several friends from work. Promptly seated at 6pm in the premier spots downstairs on "the couches". Quick service. Great sushi. The special sauces were not all that special, and certainly not for the purist. Overall, though, the fish was fresh, the rolls unique. The best part was the atmosphere. Very cool place. We were not rushed out of our prime seats despite it being Saturday. Overall very enjoyable experience.
Very trendy, great service – I took a date to Miso on a Thursday night after a few other places in Clayton. Once you walk downstairs you enter a very lavish and sophisticated lounge bar. I found our setup to be very romantic, granted it was a Thursday night and not too many people around and we had one of the couches, regardless. Our server was an absolute doll, incredibly polite and surprisingly knowledgable about her sake, which pleased me. Decent music spun by the DJ wasn't too loud, alotted a lot of time for talking. Good drink specials also.
Mixed bag – Being a hip, singles place the sushi could easily have been an afterthought, but it's actually quite good to excellent. While prices are high, portions are big, averaging out to, well, average in price. The biggest downside food-wise is the atmosphere -- loud, dark, and smoky. I have not yet eaten upstairs, but I like to sit at the sushi bar which is downstairs. Recommended but not at night for dining. Lousy handicapped access also.
