After entering Sopra and seeing the lovely, hip decor and people, I was optimistically awaiting a dining experience that would match the decor. The menu featured a large selection of intriquing, unusual sounding options, I was terribly disappointed in the food, especially for the obscene prices( I paid $16 for a piece of cheesecake-never even came close to that in NYC) My mom had Veal Milanese that was thick, extremely though, and greasy..I had spinach ravioli that was just ok, and over salted. They replaced the veal with no apology, for another "just adequate" selection. I would not recommend this place if food is your priority when dining out. If you don't mind overpayiing for a great atmosphere and passable food, then by all means go.....
Simply the Best!. Anticipation. I was sold. I remember Chef Glen Manfra, explaining that Sopra would feature Italian food of the sort your Italian grandmother would have prepared if she'd gone to culinary school. I heard that restaurateur David Manero had pampered diners in Fairfield County, Conn., and had a hand in the opening of Wolfgang Puck's cafes across the country. Big money was being spent on interior design. I believe it to be one of the finest restaurants in South Florida. Sopra's decor might be described as '50s Palm Springs meets the present: so comfortable you'll want to linger. Service is stylishly professional. Everyone looks like Brad Pitt or Jennifer Aniston. They anticipate the diner's every need. Sopra reminds diners of South Beach. Yes, there's lots of style, but one bite of Manfra's menu and all of the focus turns to food. That's as it should be. Four Stars Excellent!
