Fresh-baked goods, fresh-brewed coffee and creative sandwiches served up in relaxed, roomy surroundings. – In Short
Bright colors and comfortable furniture give this chain cafe a laid-back feel, with scattered tables that beckon coffee-sipping readers, chatters and diners. All baked goods--bagels, muffins, two dozen kinds of bread--are made fresh on the premises. Sandwiches include turkey-artichoke panini and Asiago roast beef, plus standards like chicken salad and smoked turkey. Soups change daily, but popular choices like broccoli and cheese, chicken noodle and French onion are always on the menu.

Consistantly Mediocre Service – I live in the building so it's very convenient to drop in for a delicious bagel or sandwich but I am repeatedly astonished at how horrible the service is! The cashiers seem confused whether or not an item is available. Some of them are obnoxious. Twice, both times around 7:30am, they have been out of brewed coffee!! They have alot of wasteful packaging and when you are commuting as I am it is not convenient to have to spread my own bagel with cream cheese. I also find it difficult to muddle thru the lines... order here, pick up here, unless you want a sandwhich, then pick up here, but we may or may not be still serving those, etc. My frustration with this place has been endless. The food is delicious and the prices are in line, however, the service on many levels is consistantly mediocre.

St. Louis Bread Co Made into a Chain – Panera Bread orgins are back in St. Louis when they opened as the St. Louis Bread Company, as nice little cafes winning various awards for their breads around the USA. The two owners became millionaires when they sold it to the Panera Company. Some things have changed, but the bakery items are what I enjoy. Others enjoy the coffee selection, but it appears the preparation methods have been altered. The atmoshere is not as cozy and the classical music is gone but the 1/2 sandwich and soup selection remains as probably one of the better choices or the soup in bread. Overall, good quality food, Colorado service is lacking (makes you wonder about Colorado schools), and they continue to donate end of the day bread to charity as the founders started back in St. Louis. It you want to spend $.99 on a burger realize sandwiches will be around $4-6

Not cheap eats, but good food – I agree that the food at Panera is good but it definately isn't cheap

Good bread and sandwiches – This has good bread, soups and sandwiches, for a chain restaurant, buit is not what i consider cheap! You can walk out of there spending $10.00-$15.00 for a very simple lunch. They don't give you large portions either.
